you have got to be kidding me.

8-5=3? Also car mags get ahold of cars before the general public does so as to give thier opinions and hopefully sell more cars. EXAMPLE, the EVO X isn't sold yet but they are reviewing them currently.
As for the RSK getting 1st place thats easy its a freekin Honduh and the imports ALWAYS win when it comes to the critics.
Snazzy interiors, a couple of less squeaks here and there ... that stuff don't mean crap to me if I keep getting left in the dust time and time again.
That's why I say NO WAY to the slower RSX, and NO WAY to the overpriced and only a tenth or two quicker Ms3 (which makes it a driver's race).
(with my rebate, I got my SS/SC for $4,000 less than a BASE Ms3).
Sucks to be Acura or Mazda ...
You know I wasn't gonna let this one go.. Anyone who isnt familiar with where I stand on the RSX type-s, I encourage them to read the thread 'new guy with questions'. What has to happen here for you guys to concede that the cobalt is not the best all round car on the road in its segment? Obviously, I understand your bias, but you act like the world is against GM or the cobalts when they dont come in first place.. What the **** does 'Car and Driver' care who they give the number one spot to????? They are not bias like cobalt owners or like RSX owners cause they are a magazine that evaluates a car on more than just whether or not they get a rebate when purchasing.. GM will come to your door to sell you a car, we all know that.. This is an overall test.. and the RSX is better in their opinion.. Sure, it has less tourque, and sure its more expensive.. Car and driver is one of the best out there, and thses guys test the best cars in the world. I think you have to give them some credit.. Listen Im not saying the cobalts suck. But its one thing to call me a dick for saying the RSX is a better car, now your blaming Car And Driver?? Its too much!
"this is an overall test"
is that so.
then why did they call it "Car and Driver CHEAP SPEED"
try reading next time before you start flaming.
no one gives a **** if the acura wins. we just dont appreciate things that are proposing to rate about price vs performance, and then the hondas win cuz they have a pretty interior.
and they dont like the wing.

read the title of the review again, slowly......
"if you really are looking for the cheapest speed, the saturn is the one"
"cobalt was the second quickest of the group"
"dodge is no doubt the fastest"
they got 5th 4th and 3rd.
then they contradict their own article and say "if this was only about speed"
well uh....maybe they shouldnt be calling their review "cheap speed"
maybe it should be called 4 cylinder sport compact review.
the winner "is by NO means the fastest"
"but has the nicest interior"
we can tell what this review is about.
and its not "cheap speed"

4 of the 5 interiors looked the same. One of them being the Acura. Also, they mention that the ACR won an auto cross event... funny.... the event they won didn't have a cobalt in it's class yet. Had it been around at that time it would have waxed that ACR.
Cobalt/Redline = Great auto-x car
SRT-4 = great straight line
WRX = Good rally car
Acura = Good grocery getter
Every car has great things about them, sadly the RSX doesn't even make my hair stand up nor does it even inspire performance to me IMO. That's my opinon.

Nomy certain people have reading comprehension problems thats all. I've tried to help before and met the same issue you are now. The Acura IS a nice car to be sure, but its not faster, doesn't handle as well, and the brakes give up way before ours do. So of corse it would win in a speed contest, I mean everyone wants thee best interior at the track right?

I don't think the reviewers are biased at all, and I really do believe that they think the RSX is the best car for the money.
However
What I don't think they do get is that they aren't the audience of who is buying these cars. When they make comments, such as the one about the SRT having too loud of an exhaust and uncomfortable seats, it doesn't fit with those of us who buy these types of cars.
Hell, the first thing we do, when we get a compact sports car, IS TO MAKE THE EXHAUST louder....we lower the cars, thereby hurting the ride quality they love. We like the confinement of the sport type seats. These are things that they can't relate to.
They rated the cars on things that they value and not what we value. If I wanted a quiet car that rode well and was peppy, then I probably would have bought an RSX, but I wanted something that was sporty, a little obnoxious, and had performance.
