quick question
quick question
i had to grab some gas on my way home today, up to $3.02 again
anyway, i usually fill it 'til the point where the pump handle damn near breaks my hand so today i filled it at i always do and as i was going to take the pump out of the car i noticed gas running down the side. first thought was "omg i need paper towels!!" but then i noticed that the little flap that covers the hole was gone. there IS supposed to be a little flap there right? so now i'm not sure what to do, any ideas?

ohhh the metal flap that is spring loaded and only opens up when u put the nozel directly into the tank right?
I have the same problem. I'm willing to bet that its not gone but the spring is broken so it is just stuck up in the "open" position
but as long as you put ur cap on tight and have it click it a few times you'll be all set.

are u sure its just not bent backwards into the fuel hose that leads to your tank? cuz that is how mine is. at first i thought it was gone, but then further inspection i noticed its just stuck upward.
i'm pretty positive i had/have one because i never noticed the smell of gas whenever i took the cap off. i still don't see anything but i'll ask my step-father to look at it anyway. he should be home anytime now.
