CA stage 2 replacement pulley (2.79)questions

CA Claims on their website that this pulley will bring the car into the correct AFR and run great on the gm stage 2 tune.. but what i read on this forum after searching around i find that people are saying even 2.8's are a no-no on the stage 2 tune. Does anyone have any experienced input on the subject? i was dumb and ordered this pulley when i ordered my stage 2, before reading up on things, i just dont want to hurt my new car and im learning alot by searching..im just looking for some straight up answers on this topic though..thanks alot guys..

depends. every single stage 2 tune i have is different than the next. so just going off what you read on the internet could be way off. like it is most of the time anyways

I have a 2.79" pulley on my car with the stage 2.I havent had any problems with it.I dont beat the **** out of it and i hardly redline line it,so im not worried about it.Ill see if i can get a hold of my dyno sheet and check what the a/f ratio was.I forget what it was,but i know it wasnt running dangerously lean.

I have the dyno sheet, but i dont have the graph with the a/f ratio. The only thing i had done on this run was a k&n drop in filter and the 2.79" pulley.

Oh as for the psi,i see like 17-19 depending on how cold it is outside.

re

I have been running a gm stage 2 and 2.8" pulley combo for a year with absoluatly no issues at all. I had mine dyno'd and the afr was good, not running lean up top. I beat on mine all of the time. There is big debate on here about the stage 2 and 2.8" combo, but there has not been one instance of anyone blowing there motor, unlike some 60lb injector and custom tunes.

I would still recommend the 2.9" pulley just to be safe, as the 2.8" pulley generates lots of heated air, and without some cooling mods I would stick with the 2.9" pulley. Just my 2 cents.
