getting a recaro SS.. need some help

ok so i have been a quiet member on here for a while. i have a pretty tricke dout 2.2l cobalt, and i am parting out now... origanally it was so i could get a new gto but new problems came up and i lost some money i had saved up for the GTO so now i cant afford the loan payments and insurance on it. so i decided to just get a cobalt ss sc. i found a very nicely priced 2006 SS SC with the g85 package i think it is called.

well i was just wondering what kind of mods are good for these things i never really got to knowledgable with the SS cobalts.

i was thinking about doing s stage 2 or 3 upgrade kit from GM and then gettin an exhaust system and injen cold air intake.

what kind of power or 1/4 mile numbers will i see from that...

is there anything else i should do?

do the stage 2 and 3 kits include everything i need or do i need to get the stage one kit too?

Stick with a Stage 2 and if you get the combo basicly it has Stage 1 and Stage 2 and get the GMPP Sport Exhaust and of course the Injen, from an average member I have seen 13.4-13.7 on street tires. All depends on the drive and conditions.

it all depends man, stage 2, intake, header, dp, exhaust will give you around 260 hp and you should be around a 13.6 in no way am i saying youll get that as thats just what some people get on this board....

60 lb injectors with a smaller pulley, a custom tune, cooling mods, suspension work, im sure youll get even lower than that but clutch and flywheel would have to be upgraded with some mounts and new tires also

thats wonderful.
you might be able to sneak into the 13s then.

but my statement still stands. MOST members with S2 are still in the 14s.

Yea a lot of members have the stage 2 and from stock it really isn't impresive, but like Anomalous said, that's basicaly what they run but I have seen them in the high 13's with a good driver. But of course after a few extra mods along with stage 2, but for a huge imporvment get the twin screw from Auto Works.

You think, a lot of members that have the twin screw like it, a lot of money but huge ass increase.....

And twin screw is like the eaton but eaton only has a single screw in it compared to the Sweaden blower which has two screws in it for more boost which is much more efficiant, they say like 18psi. (I could be wrong so correct me if you must, I'm not a supercharger type of guy...)

well ive seen twinscrew in videos and in person and im not impressed at all...yes u can boost 18 pst..but im boosting almost 17 psi with my 2.8, i really dont see the point of it because it is a pain in the ass...if u go straight turbo more torque and better top end

Damn huge ass increase, I'm goin Hahn for the 2.4L around tax time and WHP is like 230-240 so a pretty decent increase for me, but not like the 2.0L and how much boost they can support.
