HID's fit in PROJECTORS?

hey guys,

just got my HID kit through the mail... excited to get em in...just kinda dark out so im gonna wait till tomorrow.

my question is: since the HID bulbs are so long, will they still fit in the projector lowbeams?

thx guys.

btw, the bulb length is 56 mm

yes they will fit fine.
but you will need to grind a slot in your projector housing to allow the "return lead" on your HID bulbs to sit in.

otherwise it will push the bulb to the side a little, and cause large dark spots and hotspots in your beam pattern.

your most welcome.

you get major props for putting your HIDs in a projector, instead of saying "**** it" and going ricer style and just throwing some in your stockers.

also, from the crappy instructions i got, its hard to understand.... i plug my stock plug into the ballast - and the ballast goes to the HID bulbs.

if thats the case then how would i get stuff like my high beams, leds, halos, and turn signals to work?

doesnt that single plug from my car give power to all those things?

did your HID kit come with a relay?

probably not, but basically treat your HIDs like a separate system

leave your projectors exactly how they are....
your HID ballasts will take power from the power+ground wires that normally went to your standard lowbeam bulb.

and then will supply power to your HID bulb which will go in the lowbeam slot to replace it.

so, you're saying that i take the wires going to my standard h1 and modify it to fit into my ballast? can it be done w/o using another plug to put into the ballast?

yeah basically your ballast will have a plug that will have a power and a ground wire coming out of it.
those wires will draw power/ground from the wires that normally go into your H1 lowbeam bulb.

Unless your kit came with a relay?

ummmm, its strange....i think i got it... it seems as tho they've suppliesd me with another plug that would go down into my ballast while routing the power from the original wires to the lowbeams ....ill let u know how it goes tomorrow i suppose lol

thx again

btw, im assuming there's enough power coming from those original h1 wires to power the ballast properly, right?
