Not really a good time. I ran a 14.7 my first pass with about 900 miles on the car. In order to run a decent time in this car, you kind of have to pussyfoot 1st gear!

there's alot of SS/SC driver that arent out of the 15's stock(remember the mag times are a professional driver).. even if they dont want to admit it.. i know of atleast one.. jus practice your lauching.. its easy to spin/wheel hop on the stock mount's. and if it happen's most driver's hold back.. i never did.. got a stage 2 IRL to run a best ET of 13.8 and a best trap of 105. with only traction mods i can see any LSJ deepinto the 13's with dr's and no axel problem's. or even clutch problem's.. its when the lsj get's beat on around town and the track they dont really like it

that's actually really, really bad but it was your first run, and you just got the car, so there's room to improve. good drivers in stock ss/sc will run very low 14's, normally 14.1 to 14.3. your trap is also one of the lowr i've seen.

Pretty poor time, you need some practice, my stock times ranged from 14.4-14.7

True, I forgot about the elevation in Las Vagas. Altitude sucks the life out of this car!

Here's what you need to do. Don't worry about smoking the tires up before staging. For my launch I usually feather the clutch between 1500-2000 rpm. Once moving I gradually press the gas pedal, making sure I'm at full throttle before I shift into 2nd. Make sure you don't bounce the rev limiter before going into 2nd gear! The rest is just going through the gears. BTW, do not shift out of 3rd gear!

They arent drag-radials or slicks, they arent going to get sticky so doing a burnout is basically pointless.

Again, altitude is a killer. My best to date is 15.161. I'm in Salt Lake. I was running with a Injen CAI, Ingall's ETD, and the GM 2pass end plate option B. This year I have poly trans mounts and Hoosier slicks. I bet I hit 14's on the stock tune with a corrected altitude between 7k-11k. First race day is 5/2/08. I'll let you know how I do. I might even sneek into Denver for their King Street Comp on 4/27. BTW, at my track an Ecotec club has the naming rights to the sport compact series. Check the drags for 5/2/08.

I was thinking the same thing

But any way when I race on street tires I always go around the water box then just kinda floor it on the way to the line to get some water off that may have maid its way in between the box. Best time was a 14.1 @ 101mph and that was at 2250 feet above sea level. With stage 2 and intake I ran a 13.7 @ 105 with shitty traction. I never had a chance to run it stock at a lower elevation. My best stage 2 time at low elevation was only at an 1/8 mile track and that was a 8.7. I think with a little more practice you can get this car down in the low 14's. It is a relatively hard car to get a handle on for some people.

The best I ran at vegas was 14.9 stock. Some of the guys that raced more often then I did, said that would be 14.0 to 14.3 in cali. So you did pretty well.

Then the cobalt should have no traction problems to him if he is used to handling a 11 sec street tired car.

Look fucktard! I kept from flaming you on your stupid ass antics because I am a nice guy and gave you the benefit of the doubt and you come and call us STUPID! You need to take it down a notch before things get out of control. If you are going to be negative I will dish it right back. Here goes you want to know why the car is running in the 15's because YOU CANT DRIVE! Get back on the short bus and head back over to riceburner.net with those comments.
