Tell Me What You Think

So about a week ago, the president of my car club totalled his modded redline. He ended up selling his mods for dirt cheap to the other club members, but a lot of the stuff could only go to me, since the mods are all compatible. Yesterday, i ended up getting an Ingalls stiffy and a B&M short throw for $50....and he even installed the B&M for me (I LOVE it by the way).

Now here's the issue. I have the stock exhaust manifold, stock DP, with a GMPP sport catback. My plan is to eventually get a header and either a high flow cat, or a catless DP. My buddy has pacesetter headers with a custom 1 piece vibrant setup from the header back, with a high flow cat. So...after the header, it's all one solid piece to the exhaust tip. He told me if i wanted his header and is DP, he would give me them for free. All i would do is clean them up, and spray a couple coats of high temp paint to keep them looking nice. I would have to take the header and DP to a muffler shop and have the custom rig it to fit my catback...but it should only be $50 or so.

So...should i go with the pacesetter midtube header and high flow cat that requires custom fitting.....but it's FREE....or should i hold out and drop $400 on a header and DP when i have the cash? He said all i have to do is unbolt the header, and cut the pipe past the cat and i can have it.

i was thinking just go for it cuz it's free as well, but the only problem is that setup isn't exactly what i had planned. However, even though it isn't quite what i wanted, it'll work the same, and it'll save me $400....maybe i'll just do it.
