XM15 11-06-2007, 08:22 PM Ethanol is a smoke screen anyways. Its a wasted effort. mjbroeker 11-15-2007, 02:41 AM http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/10/sema-chevy-hot-rod-replica-with.html EmperorJJ1 11-15-2007, 05:42 AM pimp SS_SC_Cobalt 11-16-2007, 09:09 AM dont know about you but 100 octane daily driven fuel sounds good to me :) he he BoomInIt 11-17-2007, 12:35 PM I should be tuned and running e-85 in Jan. I believe its 100-105 octane for daily driving and cheaper too! Pappa Axe 11-24-2007, 01:41 AM only thing is that it takes more fuel to burn the same as gas, so you have less economy, but the trade-off is that the fuel is cheaper, and depending on the blend, it is supposed to be 100-105 I believe D4u2s0t 11-24-2007, 01:46 AM I should be tuned and running e-85 in Jan. I believe its 109 octane for daily driving and cheaper too! and it will equal out to be the same, because you will be burning more gas with e-85. only real advantage is that it burns cleaner. XplosivePlushToy 11-27-2007, 12:20 PM The LNF-powered Kappas can't run flex-fuel, so I doubt the SS/TC will be able to. Though, I could be horribly wrong. BoomInIt 11-28-2007, 03:20 PM With methanol and e85 My engine will be running very cool and cleaner too. postal_ss 12-13-2007, 07:10 PM :twothumbsi am thinking about converting to e85 there are a lot of good thing to come from it this is the site i was looking at http://www.change2e85.com/ you will need to get it tuned :cssNET: hizzo3 12-14-2007, 01:28 AM only thing is that it takes more fuel to burn the same as gas, so you have less economy, but the trade-off is that the fuel is cheaper, and depending on the blend, it is supposed to be 100-105 I believe Granted it does take more fuel to burn, but not as bad as the current flex fuel cars are. Keep in mind high octane=high boost/compression. Current flex fuel cars are also designed to run 89 octane, so there is no way that it can take the full effect of 100-105 octane. Expect some drop in mileage, but u will gain a huge boost in performance. remember. A N/A car runnin E85 could push 11.1:1-13.1:1 without risk of detno. |
