Who in Calgary has 3 inch exhaust?
I am wondering how many of us in Calgary have a three inch exhaust. Please fill out the poll whether or not you have 3 inch or other.

2.25" exhaust on the ss/sc is crazy.
My stock exhaust was 2.25", it must be 2.5".
Either way, bigger exhaust will get you power everywhere.
Going from 2.25" to 2.5" got me 15whp in some spots when I was only making 178whp.
The ss/sc does 195whp on the same dyno stock.

I was told with our cars that 3 " exhaust would only show gains if you were in the 300 hp range and you would lose HP if you were lower. I agree with the guys with the GMPP performance exhaust. It sounds great at WOT and does not drive you crazy while cruzin and is built by Borla.
2.5" would be the minimum, for sure.
The needing backpressur crap is a myth.
Properly tuned car will not lose torque.
We tried it on a mustang. Dual 3.5" exhaust, no loss of torque, and better everywhere
after 3200 rpm.
The friend that helps with our car mod choices is a Phd mechanical engineer.
He said it was bullshit, we tested it, he was right.
At the time, that mustang was making 360whp.
I have an rsx guy with the same attitude as you guys, he is finally going to try better exhaust. I'll let you know how it goes.
He is currently making 238whp with the eaton s/c and tanabe hyper medallion exhaust.
We are going to try 3".

ive seen 3 inch exhaust dynos.
the torque curve looks like everest.
very peaky.
sure the high end gains hp. but its to high in the rpm band for this car. and the loss of low end is very obvious.
might be fine for a car that revs to 9k, but these things stop making power after about 6700, and you need the torque before 5252

I would claim it was the variable cam timing on my car, but the mustang doesn't have any of that to play with.
I can believe it was crap without a proper tune.
