Cool HP Tuners

Anybody from the Calgary area or anywhere in the "Canadian Mid West" have this on their SS S/C car??

I am just curious as to how user friendly it is and if there are any recommended upgrades. I am thinking of getting this next summer to try and "de-lean" the car and tune it better.

Thanks!

we were talking a while ago at one of the meets that why should get together and buy HP tuners together (the guys in and around calgary) and then we can all tune our cars and it wont be nearly expensive , we will jsut have to buy the credits or w/e...somthing to think about.

you dont NEED a wideband, but it is definatly reccommended so you can monitor your a/f ratio....since you will be screwing around with stuff you wanna be able to monitor.

remember it comes with 8 credits when you purchase it as well. That's enough to do 4 cobalts. I paid for my HP Tuners by selling 4 of the credits to other people and used the other 4 on my redline and silverado.

Having a good tune on my Ion Redline made all the difference in the world. However, I never tuned the car myself. I left it in the capable hands of guys with a lot more experience then me.

ya thats key when it comes to tweaking things its best to leave it in the hands of people that know what they're doing but at the same time learning is a good thing just make sure you make a back up of the original flash.

Talking Tuning

you can actually purchase a full license which allows you to tune any chevy vehicle i believe. It is not a hard program to use. like Chris and Anom said it is just time consuming and before you use it I would suggest doing allot of reading and asking questions on the HPtuners web site. That is how I learned to do it along with asking and talking with others about different aspects . (Chris, Ed....). If you are not comfortable with this sort of thing I suggest you leave the tuning to the professionals. I would also HIGHLY recommend having a wide band A/F gauge before attempting to change any part of a tune. You need to know what is happening so you don't blow **** up.

So if I were to buy this for next spring, how many people would be interested in a tune? I would need a definite YES because I do not want to buy credits and then people back out.

You don't have to buy the credits It comes with them. You just decide to use them in pairs or unlock the complete modle year. If you need more credits you can get them later.

Ahhh ok. I would unlock the model year, but then anyone without a 2007 would not be able to get the tune.

I also strongly urge anyone looking to tune their car to get a wideband O2 sensor. Without it, you're really taking a chance and tuning in the dark. Keep the engine running rich at WOT!!!
