track day 14 flat

well i ran a 14 flat @102
my 60 ft was 24
and i launched at 1200ish i was on stock tires ans stock tire psi also i had an exhaust leak from DP
so this good or bad

u should be running like easy mid 13's

what traction mods do u have?

ugh i have no traction mods i sold my TD but i was completly stock for traction mods i have aem intake cuztom 2.5 exhaust(with a leak) and stage 2

a little higher prolly wouldn't hurt, but if you can't get traction at 1200, you should work on the launch to get it to a spot where you can grip.

ight im thinkin next time i go i should lower tire pressure to i forgot but i wouldve had a good run when i raced a 350 like we both took off bout same time i had him off did they i missed 2nd real bad then the 350 was a lil ahead then i blew by him had like a car n half he said he ran 14.2 i jut threw my slip away lol

what you start at in RPMs is important yes....

but NOT as important as what you do in the 3 seconds after you launch.

you can launch at 1200, but then put to much throttle on and break loose.
or you can launch at 3500, be super soft on the throttle and get a good launch.
so launch rpm isnt everything.

My suggestion is to launch at 2000, see how that works, but be very gentle feeding in the power.
you want to be pulling hard but NOT spinning.

just look at it as a bench mark. now you know what you have done. thats important. lol, i keep adding things to my car without going to the track between mods, so i have no real idea what each does as far as track time... i have a feeling i will be disapointed.
