today went for dinner with the old car club and the car wouldnt let me out. shut the car off, doors unlocked, but pulling on the handle did nothing, it was like it was locked. played with the power locks a bit, pulled the lock up (felt like it was locking and unlocking), even rolled the window down and tried the outside handle, wouldnt open still. after playing around with it enough it all the sudden opened and has worked every since.

anyone had a simular problem??? gonna call up the dealer and book it in, i also gotta get the back seat squeak fixed.

 

Yes, the handle randomly malfunctions, ive had it happen before. There are a few others that have too, I think it has to do the the mechanism that latches the door closed.

 

had the same problem...wat i did is i locked and unlocked it bout 5 times in a row,and it never happened to me again

 

it was the government, while you were trying to open the door they took a dead body away right in front of you

Its happened to me twice in a year, kinda freaky.

happens all the time, i usually open the window open the door from the outside, if that doesnt work, lock and unlock it and sometimes opens, sometimes it doesnt and i just go out the passanger side haha

 

That would freak me out. That would be really bad if your girl was trying to get out and it didn't work

 

no its never the passenger door which is the good part, but its always the driver door

 

I've had it the other way. the mechanism got stuck once I opened the door and when I went to close the door it hit with a thud and bounced back open.

well ive got it booked into gm tomorow moring. they are also looking at the back seat squeak. figure i should get all this anoying stuff fixed before the warrenty runs out n april. the unfotunete thing is i wont get to use the a/c lots before then then to see if i end up with a puddle on the floor.

 

I was stuck in my car for 5 days before someone noticed...

There is a I-Hook on the Door latch that isn't returning to the set Position, Which in return will not let the door handles reset! In this Pic it has returned up all the way!When I had mine apart hooking up the shaved door kit I sprayed it with silicone Lube & No more Problem! I also suggest you spray the 1 that the inside cable hooks to!
The I hook you see in the picture that the Cable is now hooked to!

 

Sweet fix, what thread do you talk about the shaved door handles?

 

well got the car in and aparently fixed, they also did the a-piller padding recall.

 

ok well i know this is an old thread but im moderatly pissed off right now and im having the same problem... its quite possibly one of the most ghetto things, going with your girl she gets out then u have to get out of same side... yeah thats cool, thats gonna get me laid... got dor all half apart, gonna try wd40 and hope for the best... gm manufacturing FTL. my 1986 s-10 still opens perfectly fine nothing wrong with it. even starts after three years of not running it lol... any other fixes for this door thing any one knows of?

 

Yep this sucks doesn't it? It happened to me all the time in my 05 SS but haven't had it in my 06.
