For the love of God...

i normally do not get mad about this kind of stuff, but this just pissed me off-

this **** is embarrassing to our "community" as a whole.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/6...e6017fe207.htm

import does not know how to stage? no you freaking moron, you have no drag racing etiquette. first off you are an idiot for staging immediately after cars left the line. secondly, you don't just roll straight into the stage beams, you allow your opponent to pre-stage with you before advancing. quit talking **** about other people when you have no idea what the hell you are doing.

yea thats anoying. i have no problem with newbies at the track, we have all been there and they just need to learn. its the guys that all night long try to stage on the back tires thats anoying.

my last car i drag raced quite a bit. wasnt fast, but fun. here is what i did

-pull into the burnout box, wait till instructed and did the burnout
-pull forward about 5 feet from the stage beams, stop and wait till instructed
-pull forward and prestage
-wait till the other guy prestages, usualy rolls right into stage
-rev the motor up to about 2500, ease the car forward stopping it with the hand brake
-once staged, foot to the floor on the 2 step (set at 4800rpm), see yellow and sidestep the clutch.

i would usualy race friends, sometimes before i had the 2 step id ask them to let me stage first and have the rpm up before they staged. most of the time with the 2 step, id wait till they staged and were ready before i staged. being courtious goes a long way to helping you and your oponent have a good run

now what pisses me off is when you have a guy at the top end of the track turn off in front of you, cutting you off. had that happen a couple times, last season there was an incident were a mustang did that to another mustang, both cars were finnished

^ yea i use the handbrake to stage now as well. allows you to set your rpms way more simply than staging and having to hurry up

The import is obvisously new to the track but I dont think he should have to wait for him to pull up
firrt. If the track guy says to line up then line up.Talking **** about people for no reason other than him being a rook at the track is stupid, we all did that our first time.

ALOT of the newest generation of "car guys" are too cocky and arrogant with their slo ass cars to ever follow any kind of track etiquette . Its sad .

Sidenote .....I would burn my SS to the ground if I ran a 14 anything with a 3" pulley....jmo

at the track i notice some ppl like to get to the tree first cuz if your last as soon as you stage the tree drops and you dont have as much time to get prepared...where if your first you can be prepared.

here in calgary, the fastest lsj was a redline and it was like 13.6 with ALOT of mods including gutting the interior (no seats but the driver seat) and slicks. a cobalt with stage 2,intake, exhuast, the best we would get was a 14.3 i think. depends where your located on your times....
