View Full Version : These pirelli tires act this way when cold?

Second time going to work and I notice a vibration like my tires arent quite round. I checked them and they seem properly inflated, the car was sitting up over the weekend so if I had a nail it would have gone flat already.

Then during the ride to work it smooths out like the tires warming up fixes it.

Any input?

Morning temperatures are around 35 degrees F

It's flat-spotting. It happens to most brands of high performance tires due to the softness of the compund.
Good luck!

My tires do the same thing , and their not flat spotted ;) It seems to be a pretty common characteristic with any summer tire Ive ever had . The BFG KD's , and various goodyears have all done the same thing when its really cold out , until the tire warms up .

Sounds like the compound cools in the flat position (were the tire sets on the ground), so it feels like it is flat spotted. That's why they are summer only tires.
