This might have been discussed, but I did a search and could not find anything except some people saying CAI's for the 2.2 might fit the 2.4.

My question is, what CAI's are available for the 2.4? Any at all or do the ones for 2.2 fit?

The injen 2.2L one fits. We have it on special for only 194.99 right now at www.turbotechracing.com

I did my test with the Injen unit, I just used the Short Ram part of it, but I plan to convert to full CAI when summer returns. As far as I have been able to tell, any intake for the 2.2 will fit the 2.4

They utilize the same throttle body.

Sounds good...

But what about the sensor that is attached to the stock airbox? Is there a fitting for it on these 2.2L intakes? Also, are there any ports on these intakes that need to be plugged?

Or is it really a direct fit, no questions asked?

I'm running a 2006 Cobalt SS non-supercharged 2.4L Ecotec...thanks.

You are talking about the MAF sensor. The new intake has a spot for that sensor to insert into. It is 100% made for that engine. No hassle of trying to make it work.

Does the Injec CAI fit like it's supposed to on the 2.4L? I see the SRI does, and I noticed that there is a spot on the engine compartment for a CAI intake. Anyone try the full CAI?

Yes it works. The 2.2 and the 2.4 have the same chasis setup.

What about AEM?? If both the 2.2 and 2.4ss have the same throttle body, and ingen fits... AEM should fit too ??? and if it does... what advantages and disadvantages should one have over another (excluding price) ????

Couldnt tell you if the AEM would fit. For the price and Injens great performance history, I would go with the Injen.

I agree with going with the Injen. I put the Injen SRI on my 2.4L SS a month ago and love it. I've noticed a small performance gain, and it sounds great when you get above 3grand.

Excellent! Make sure to hit up the 2.4 guys about any gains in anything...and how it sounds..........

:twothumbs :guns:

BTW: I had an AEM short ram intake on my '93 Accord, and I loved it. The sound it made when accelerating was super duper sweet. As a basic rule of thumb, an intake is an intake. You're not gonna get 80 hp, 80 tq, or a 9 second quarter mile from it.

the sound is crazy i love it but it makes me use more gas so i can hear the sound and the gains are feelable i am going to be dynoing in about a month to see what im putting down but im not sure what a stock 2.4 puts down on a mustng so i guess i wont know what the exact gains were
