So it was pretty cold night... I gave my friend a ride in my cobalt to show him what it has. I could not hook up at all. Keep in mind I drove about 15 minutes to his house so my tires shouldn't have been too cold. While taking off slow in first, then easing the gas harder, I broke traction like I was trying to. then moderately quick into second resulted in absolutely no grip the tons of wheel hop.
I am guessing this is result of the cold weather?

If you have the pirellis then yes it is. I think they are good to 40-50 degrees. They are super soft for summer driving. In the winter they are too hard to get traction.

I really wish GM put all weather tires on this car. I am going to find myself getting rides all this winter and leaving my cobalt in the garage

I love the cold weather. I have been braking the tires loose at 45MPH.

I think that novelty wears off as soon as you get stuck in a ditch.
