Gm School
Gm School
Hey all,
I am a chevy technician, and i just completed a gm manual transmission class. i was suprised when the instructer informed me that you can take a vaccum line off of the boost regulator on a 2.0 supercharger and it will max out at 20 psi. and in most cases you wont even set a check engine light.
Has anyone ever tried this? and if so, how does it work?
I'm not sure wich one to plug. the one to the solenoid or the one that goes from the super charger body to the boost regulator.
Thanx.

^^^^ Don't listen to these morons.
I think your instructor is referring to what is commonly know around here as "Boost Bypass Mod".

Basically all GM tunes have a max boost limit that they allow. After your car hits that limit it is instructed to bleed off the extra boost. People used to do this mod all the time before there was laptop tuning available for the LSJ.
Your stock pulley will not be able to boost to 20 psi.
This mod is no longer recommended. Please don't do it to your car.
