Yeah so I lifted on the car, I have coolant and the whole nine yards in with my oil. so I figure I am going to build the top end some. I plane on doing forged piston arp head studs a better head gasket. I'm not sure if I want to do cams or not. but I know I am going to lower the compression to 8:5-1 and run more boost with a 2.5 and a good tune.

I have a CAI 2.6 60lb injectors deleted cat magnaflow exhaust and a very aggressive tune I saw about 21lb of boost when it happened.

yeah I went back and looked at the log. when I saw the 21lb of boost it went lean I guess the weather had a lot to do with it, it was about 45 degrees out that day.

The stock headgasket is a weak point of our engine. More so are the stock studs. Get a Cometic headgasket and Golden Eagle headstuds and you'll be set. I was running 24psi on my twinscrew with my 2.2L ecotec Cometic headgasket and GE studs without a hitch.

On a side note I don't suggest running 8.5:1 pistons unless you decide to run a turbo. Just use the thicker Cometic 2.2L gasket and it'll lower the compression a bit. Stick with the 9.5:1 comp pistons for the setup you described, and you'll make more power in the end. :twothumbs

this is caused by your tune.

8.5:1 compression? On an Eaton?
As 2K5SS/SC mentioned... stick with at least a 9.5:1 compression.

shit I'm running a pretty large turbo at 22.35 psi (and a whole lot more CFM moving) and have had the car @21psi on the blower for over a yr. Shit still holding strong

i was gonna say... sooo drop the ratio but over spin the blower to produce less hp over all.. yea cuz thats a good idea
