best stock size tire for best price...

alright guys i need some new tires for my 2.4. i wanna go with the stock tire size 205/50/17 and was wondering what the best tire is for ultimately the lowest or best price. i found the pirelli p6 (which is what i have now) for like $83 a tire, but i would like to try something else. what do you all recommend?

205/50R17 isn't a very common size and your choices are quite limited. If you go with a 215/45R17 your choices will be greater. The overall diameter is almost exactly the same as stock, and they actually fit the stock wheel better too........the 205's are a bit narrow for a 7" wide wheel.

hmmm. interesting, so if i get a 215/45/17 they will fit my stock 17's? im not too educated on what the different numbers mean, but overall how are 215/45's compared to 205/50's?

215 is the width of the tire in millimeters.....so a 215 tire is 1 cm wider than a 205. The middle number is the sidewall height.....it is the percentage of the width. So basically, the 215 is the same tire, but slightly wider......therefore it could possibly have slightly better handling.

None whatsoever. Your stock 17's are 7" wide, which is perfect for 215 width tires.
