DJNateGnau 11-29-2005, 02:01 PM Daaaamn!!!!!! Hotness!
But why is it only an Auto?
JamesBrown 11-29-2005, 02:03 PM How much do you guys think it would cost to get an interior like that but in all black, i just hate the shitty plastic that comes stock.
zinner 11-29-2005, 02:08 PM Wow this vehicle came a long way from the car I saw at the GMSC bash.
arsenal21 11-29-2005, 02:09 PM The pillar is the only thing i could see having a use for.
TimDang 11-29-2005, 02:12 PM I'm assuming they overlayed the plastic with some fiberglass, I don't think you could prep the original plastic to just paint on, maybe you can not sure. But fiberglass is a lot of work, with that comes big expense.
SS-=MKR=-SS 11-29-2005, 02:14 PM Shit I want that kit!! where can i get it
I agree, the a-pillar is something I could use...
I like the graphics on the side, the stripe that is. I also like the 2 tone paint scheme. I've been looking into getting a carbon fiber hood, so that would set it off rather nicely.
Cobalt30 11-29-2005, 02:29 PM i like that car a lot. thats also something i plan on doing w/ the 2 tone paint. I plan on having a black roof and pillars. I think it would look pretty sick w/ my cf trunk lid and hood when i get it. heres a pic of the tc below of what im talking about.
and also how do u guys like that wing? I think i like it but not realy sure about it yet.

But why is it only an Auto?
i'd be happy they didnt put a big Tach/Shiftlight in it....
DJNateGnau 11-29-2005, 02:32 PM HAHA That would be funny
Street Graffiti 11-29-2005, 02:55 PM The Cobalt showed really well in Vegas
Lots of compliments from GM
We are hoping to get the kit into production soon -
It will depend on the demand for it
The car is only an automatic because when we got it
that was the only car anywhere close to us to buy.
So you have to make due. BUT, the car runs very
well and holds it's own.
blkcobalt 11-29-2005, 03:10 PM I too like the pillar mod. I love the rims too. The rest of the car doesn't do much for me thou. (sorry) Car looks kinda ricey :(
05" Blk LS Sedan
16' wheels
Fully loaded
Brian MP5T 11-29-2005, 03:12 PM Auto...
mlcroy20 11-29-2005, 03:16 PM I'd like to know what type of HP numbers that engine setup is producing...
Street Graffiti 11-29-2005, 03:30 PM The last dyno took the car from 121 HP factory at the wheels
to 200 HP at the wheels
Not tuned and without the methanol at 6lbs of boost
the turbo goes to 25 lbs + methanol and the NOS
We have a new computer for it from GM
and have done some tuning - Hope to have new dyno results soon
mlcroy20 11-29-2005, 03:32 PM very nice! :twothumbs can't wait to see the new results!
xavier102772 11-29-2005, 03:39 PM it's ok for what it is, but that two tone is ugly ass
skoshi130 11-29-2005, 04:12 PM Definitely like the pillar and the rims, that front nose pieces has to go
Brian MP5T 11-29-2005, 04:57 PM The last dyno took the car from 121 HP factory at the wheels

So how long are you planning on having that automatic tranny together at 25+ Lbs of boost?
Street Graffiti 11-29-2005, 04:59 PM we have some trans mods coming - more on that later

mcphatty 11-29-2005, 10:07 PM so how did you guys do the interior? did you just lay fiberglass over the original interior or what?
and how bad are the rattles when that stereo is bumpin?
The 27th element 11-30-2005, 12:30 AM I`m guessing they just sanded down the texture, then primed and painted.
sneaky 11-30-2005, 02:04 AM In most turbo applications an automatic will do better then a manual but that is another discussion for another time. Can't say I am too hip on the yellow and white. Would have looked better with yellow and black maybe? The spoiler also isn't doing it for me but I like the 3 gauge pillar. I am assuming that it was custom fabricated... different strokes for different folks but it was nicely thought out you can tell.
Good job on the car :twothumbs
wasey13 11-30-2005, 02:07 AM Where is the turbo located on the STS system and where does it start to make boost?
khan4rtist 11-30-2005, 02:28 AM *drool*
sneaky 11-30-2005, 02:32 AM Where is the turbo located on the STS system and where does it start to make boost?
Most Remote mount Turbo setups are done after half a foot or less from the end of the exhaust. It makes boost at about the same time any other one would start which would be mid to high 2k rpm range.

Hey thanks... I don't care about most systems though. I was asking about the one on the Cobalt. :)
zinner 11-30-2005, 01:38 PM Hey thanks... I don't care about most systems though. I was asking about the one on the Cobalt. :)
It's right were the stock muffler was. Chris told me turbo lag isn't any more of a problem with the remote turbo than any other turbo system.
I saw it with my own eyes but not at SEMA. ;)

Thanks, so it makes boost between 2700-2900rpm??
Street Graffiti 11-30-2005, 10:27 PM so how did you guys do the interior? did you just lay fiberglass over the original interior or what?
and how bad are the rattles when that stereo is bumpin?
We used all the factory pieces with fiberglass overlays and paint
We only have one little ratttle when the stereo is bumpin - the sunroof door rattles if
it is open more than 1/2 way other than that the car is pretty quiet.
You can not just sand the texture off in most cases it causes the paint to peel

sneaky is correct - the auto trans does work wonderfully with the turbo
zinner is also correct - the turbo is near the driver rear wheel and responds a
well or better than a standard mount turbo.
At the GM Bash I let one of the GM guys drive the car and he said that he was
pleasantly surprised by the performance and the response. He said it was as repsonsive
or more so than the SAAB he had been driving.
Cobalt_Supercharged 11-30-2005, 10:37 PM Very nice work. I'm not a big fan of really flashy cars, but I can appreciate the work that went into it. I like seeing the use of a remote turbo. Very sleeper like.
Any chance you will producing the 3 pod A-pillar.
Street Graffiti 11-30-2005, 10:40 PM The colors on the Cobalt are not your standard colors
They are Auto Air Colors (Water Base)
The yellow is Irridescent Yellow
The White is white with Hot Rod Sparkle over it - Looks like crushed glass
no blues or pinks just white sparkle - it is awesome. You have to see
it in the sunlight and in person to really appreciate the colors.
The graphics are Charcoal Met. matching the wheels and CF colors

Auto Meter is supposed to be producing the pod. I will try to remember tomorrow
to call and ask the statis of the pod
Cobalt_Supercharged 11-30-2005, 11:00 PM Cool, thanks.
Desired SS & Ion 12-01-2005, 09:53 AM for anyone that is interested you can sand down and prime then paint plastic.
as long as you use the right materials and addehision promoter with flex agent, i have done over 20 vehicles with this procedure and i have never had any cracks, bubbles and peels.
Street's Cobalt looks very nice :) i love the remote turbo makes twin charging even easier hehe
Street Graffiti 12-01-2005, 03:24 PM I did not want to tell people to sand and paint :
because without some understanding of the process needed, they can create alot of problems for themselves.
We have also done many cars that way,
and we have fixed many for people because they have made a mess of their interior.
We have also seen people have to buy new pieces because they ruined what they have.
As for the PILLAR POD is our car - I spoke with Auto Meter a few moments ago and they are looking into the pod set up. But because some of the Cobalts come out with pillar air bags they are not sure what they are doing yet. They are looking at other options for mounting also.
JCswoosher2 12-01-2005, 08:24 PM aaahhhhh i saw it at Nopi Nats. i wasnt impressed. that rear bumper was cracked.
Street Graffiti 12-01-2005, 09:04 PM what bumper was cracked - Our Cobalt was not at NOPI Nationals
I'll tell you what. I haven't seen the vehicle first hand, I did just watch a show my DVR recorded (thank god for recommended shows to record). Anyway, I just watched t a show called AutomotiveVision.TV and it had this car on there (along with 2 other GM products). It gave some sweet shots of the interior, under the hood and the turbo. Man, I have to say this is a SWEET ride. I am going to try and find a way to record it to DVD and then onto the net. The show interviewed the owner of Street-Graffiti and a rep from STS.
All I can say is I am impressed. Thats a great car, please pass that on Chris.

anyone up for painting their car the white with hot rod sparkle? i'm in!! :twothumbs
not a bad idea actually....wonder how the white would look over rally yellow...
memphisr24 12-03-2005, 11:34 AM not a bad idea actually....wonder how the white would look over rally yellow...
That's what I'm thinking. However it looks like it costs a lot of money to do (which I do not have)
Street Graffiti 12-04-2005, 08:39 PM Thanks DOC
We have not seen the Auto TV show yet. They are suppose to send us a DVD copy of it. Let you know more when I hear from them.
The Hot Rod Sparkle White looks pretty good over the factory yellow - we tested it before we painted the whole car. It is not quite as brite obviously as the irredescent yellow but it is nice.
I will see if we can get some picts for you to see with the sparkle over the factory color. We can sell the paint to any of you who would like to use it.
I'm in the process of trying to find a DVD recorder so I can get things off my DVR. I'd be glad to send you a copy when I get one. It should be relatively soon. I am going to try and post it to the net. I might need some more software to do that, we'll see.
No thanks needed. The products speak for themselves.
Speed_Golfer 12-08-2005, 12:23 AM Man I love that front bumper. Best one so far in my opinion. Can you buy it somewhere or is it just custom for that car?
gmoneyroc082 12-08-2005, 08:48 AM I have a cobalt LS 05... its weak compared to the SS... I KNOW... but im tryin to do something with it... Like engine performance.. or anything!!! hit me back if u have anything neat i can do to it
FLCobalt 12-10-2005, 11:39 AM no word on how much HP/ Tq this car is pushing?

the question is...whats its 1/4 mile time?
skydragon26 12-19-2005, 10:09 PM Is the rear mount setup a custom job, how was that done? or was it ordered from a company, a name plz lol!
hardtocope 12-23-2005, 11:07 PM where did you guys get that wire harness for the aftermarket radio? how did you wire up the accessory wire to it?
Kahless 12-24-2005, 05:40 PM no shots of the rear mount turbo?? id like to see how it fits under there. i saw in article in motor trend about a sts system for an HHR and i think it said all STS systems are rear mount. and just as that article said the 1/4 time wont matter a bit with the extra 4-500lbs of stereo equipment and show car bs in it. itll be off compared to what youll get in a normal car.
Street Graffiti 12-26-2005, 05:45 PM We have not had our Cobalt on a 1/4 track yet - the local tracks are closed for winter
not worth traveling real far - just for a track time
Our car is not built to be the fastest out there - it is built to hold its own and to show well also.
Our sponsors like to see us show more than race - so it's a must to show well
However, the car does preform much better than a factory car even with the extra weight.
Here is a picture of the STS Turbo Kit under our car

Street Graffiti 12-26-2005, 05:58 PM Man I love that front bumper. Best one so far in my opinion. Can you buy it somewhere or is it just custom for that car?
If we can get enough interest in the kit we will have it produced -
Kahless 12-28-2005, 06:01 PM is that 5000 price with the methanol and the intercooler and the catback??? or are those extra?
and where in texas is this tuning guy, Nelson Performance in Texas??? im nearly dead center and its a 4 hour drive to all borders save el paso... 8 hours. and of course amarillo. if deepstage in killeen sells sts systems ill be ok.
2.2 ecotec 12-29-2005, 12:24 PM i want that speaker box or what ever you call it, the one that took place of the back seat.
how much would something like that cost? :cssNET: :cssNET:
daddy3ddi3jr 01-19-2006, 12:21 PM Wow Wut can I say...Is really hot but 2 bad is just AUTO...anyways...I want to put a customize hood where do u guys will suggest em to go huh?
Jaxter 01-26-2006, 01:22 AM I dunno if this forum is dead or not but I really like the spoiler on the car who's the manufacturer?
B's_2.4_SS 01-28-2006, 09:02 PM The wing is from APR.... its awesome, looks great on the car.... Chris has been really busy lately so he hasnt been able to keep up on the posts recently, sorry everyone.... if ya have any questions though, i can ask him for ya and keep everyone posted.... thanks for all the comments.... they are greatly appreciated.... hopefully someday my car will look half as good as the Street Cobalt.... just bought an 06 Cobalt SS 2.4 lit...... and i LOVE it..... no mods yet.... but hopefully sometime in the near future.... anyway, take it easy everyone. :twothumbs

Why can't the average joe get a "new computer from GM" we all could really unlock the power in our cars.

its still not tuned ;) they haven't gotten to touch the computer. Its all GM
Kahless 02-01-2006, 06:19 PM i just checked STS's website and they say that as of the 24th of jan you can finance your turbo system. i am starting to love these guys. i cant get together 4500$ at one time but i can get 1000$ or so and pay the rest over a few months. depends how long the financing deal is.
www.ststurbo.com
the place I go to for dyno runs is a dealer for them... :D
Kahless 02-02-2006, 01:28 PM i need to know a dealer in my area. im not ready for that yet. maybe next christmas when im done paying for my car. or much sooner when i get a real job.
skydragon26 02-02-2006, 04:29 PM Auto hmm does that mean we might see some mods for the 2.2 auto trans?
B's_2.4_SS 02-18-2006, 05:24 PM Chris and everyone at Street Graffiti have been really really busy with a lot of stuff and havent been able to get the car tuned yet or improve on other things with the Cobalt... Im sure when things kinda quiet down... when and if that happens.. Chris will update you on everything you may have questions about.
Street Graffiti 02-20-2006, 11:23 PM Hey every one. Thanks B for helping keep everyone up to date.
We have been swamped with our shop - sorry.
We do have a computer from GM - We haven't had time to put it in
and get the car retuned. Everyone can not get one because that
"Makes the car unsafe" and this is considered an "off road" show car.
The wing is APR
The body kit we would like to put into production - If you are interested in a kit please
let us know. Email us at sales@street-graffiti.com
The box is pricey - and we would need your car here to fit it in. This is not something
that can be shipped.
I hope I got it all - DOC thanks again for the DVD copy.
