That much power and its only running that time and mph? Seems slow to me and definitly a low mph.

its one of those cars that has the huge drag tires right? I think its running slow cus of that ... the huge tires ... while they are made for grip and all and supposed to be the best I think they are slowin the car down. It will be funny if someone can get the ss to those same speeds on street tires half that size

There is more then one Phase 5 Cobalt. Erica's that runs high 11s, low 12s and that has no where near that amount of power. She is closer to 300hp(maybe 350hp), if I recall.

Ms. Kindle's car I believe is in the 9s or 10s.

no he doesn't lol.

bigger rims/tires whatever will actually give you better mph.

welll coming from someone who drag races :cssNET: he is somewhat right, large slicks do tend to lower your trap speed a but not enough to make a uge difference because there is more rotaional mass. however you get a better et with them because your 60 foots are way lower due to the increased traction. both of our shop srts are in the mid to low 11 sec range and trapping over 120 plus with full interior stereo ac and all still on stock bottom ends aswell and daily driven, i ran my car on stock tires and my ets were in the 14's but trapping over 123 mph so you can see the difference

then you don't know how to drive. 123+ mph E.T.'s is definitely not a 14sec 1320!

Spoken like someone that has never driven a 400+ whp FWD on street tires at the strip. The best I managed on street tires was a 13.4@119, spinning THROUGH 3rd gear. Even at 1/2 throttle in 2nd my car was roasting the tires at the track running on a mere 12lbs of boost (~300whp). Now on the street it's an entirely different story as the tires actually hook up pretty well.

As for Erica's Phase 5 Cobalt. I believe this is the quickest time she has posted:

The Phase5 ran this weekend at the Sport Compact event at Pomona. We qualified for the Quick 16 class in the number 11 spot. Our qualifying time was an 11.23 @120 mph. We had it at 23 pounds of boost...Eigth mile time was a 7.15 at 95 mph and athe 60' foot was 1.646.. The car ran great. Unfortunately going into the second round, our throttle cable broke and we couldnt finish the race. But the car ran great and we can wait to see how we will do in Palmdale in a couple of weeks.

Also just because the car dyno's at 500+ whp, doesn't necessarily mean she's running full power at the track. Based on the boost in her post (23psi) and the trapspeed, I'd say that for that 11.2 pass she was running in the mid 400whp range. A 10 second pass is only a matter of turning up the boost a little more.

I am not a drag car expert, but thats a pretty good time/et (11.98 @ 115 mph) for a 2.2 litre turbo car at 21 PSI.

And the Phase 5 is a bracket car so it's supposed to run consistant times and not go for the fastest/quickest times.

Phase 5 is a joke and a complete waste of cash thus far. I have yet to see anything impressive about it
