My woman rules with a Stg 2. Questions?

So last night my lady surprised me with my Stage 2 for my 07 ss/sc for Christmas as she'll be in florida during real Christmas. Suhweet. Being that I live in IL should I wait to install this and a 2.85 until after this freezing weather? Has anyone had any issues? We have a Tech 2 at the shop I work so I'll be doing the install myself. My only other engine mod is an airbox mod.

I put mine on recently. This cold weather (pennsylvania) has shown some awesome PSI numbers. The only problem I have is it's even harder to keep traction with all the **** on the roads. Between ice and the salt to melt the ice, I get very few weeks lately that the roads are clean enough to let the beast loose.

Nice Christmas, not to many gifts this year. Been a hard year for us but its not about gifts anyways. As for stage II, install it now. I would not add a 2.85 pulley though...get some other mods first and have the motor breath. Exhaust, downpipe, ect. Then again, if I could go back in time I would of kept stage II, all GMP mods. Spent way to much cash on this car....Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing the good news. Good luck.

Sweet. I love hearin great advice. Thanks to all. Obviously I'm excited. My buddy STILL thinks is 99 gtp "factory freak.." with Flows is faster than my ss/sc... wait till now. Yeah the ss/sc isn't my daily driver, I drive a 90 ford bronco during the inclement weather. I've only driven the cobalt like 3 times in the past month so I'm hopin for a huge shock after I put it on. I haven't yet ordered the 2.85, I'm sort of hesistant to go that low. Would I be better off with a 2.9? As far as safety vs gains is there a huge trade off? I haven't really seen many threads as far as that and I've looked a pretty good amount. Thanks.

I would deff do it. I have a stg 2 with a 2.8 and no problems so far and im going on 22k with it on. But i also have injen CAI, dont no if it makes it safer or not though. Plus i have heard that the stg2 runs a little rich anyways so the 2.8 pulley doesnt hurt it but dont hold me to it.

i've seen very mixed reactions as far as pulley sizes go on the stage 2 tunes. i've heard the 2.9 is perfect, i've also heard don't put a smaller pully unless you get tuned. i think a 2.9 is fine, but thats just me.

as far as stage2, yeah, it makes a pretty big difference. like a whole new car!

I'm located in McHenry County IL.

Yeah I really want an exhaust and a header/dp but it's gonna be at least another 3 weeks before I can recoop from christmas spending and all that. I looooove the look of the SLP Dual and I liked the sound on that you tube clip with the yellow car but I also have seen some of you saying its waaay too loud and sounds terrible.... plus it's expensive. That Ark N2 sounds sweet but I dono if I dig on the angled coffee can ricer look on my little usa 4banger... So I'm torn... Any ideas? Alternatives maybe? As far as header/dp I'm gonna stick with ZZP I think and go catless...

and poppagun when is this midwest meet? I wanted to do that tunersource meet (in july 07 i think ) but it got cancelled as far as I know...I'd like to be a part of that, I love this car and the community.. so far I've only met one guy driving one who was a douche bag.. but it wasn't his it was his friends he was getting gas, so i guess that doesnt count. Not that I hate on guys for a car but just about every mustang, rsx, and corvette guy i've met has been a total ***** to me.

anyways thanks for the input
