How many would be interested in a stainless LT header?

Good friend of mine who runs a speed shop here in phoenix were talking about a friend's SS cobalt and i brought up the idea of a long tube header. What we were thinking was a 1 7/8th long tube header with a 3" collector that would come with a 3" downpipe to connect to a 3" catback. It would be full stainless steel and initial estimates would be in the 499-599 range. Would anyone be interested in a piece like that? There will be NO cat option so it won't be emission legal.

Gains? Your guess is as good as mine. I could imagine as much as 25-30+whp with just S2. IF we get some good interest we're thinking we will make a batch of 10 to start and take it from there. Post here if you'd be interested.

Probably. Adding two resonator's would probably quiet it down. This header would be for those who want the most power

I think its a great idea, but the "no cat" and the potential "loudness" of the system may deter away potential buyers. Great option for those who are just looking for pure performance, best of luck!

That defeats the purpose of a long tube. You want a shorty header if you want to keep the stock downpipe.

So what he is saying is that you will have a short ass DP that will take up the room between the long headder and the cat back. (right?)

That is correct.

I'm going to leave this thread up for a few days but it looks like there isn't a whole lot of interest. My insurance check will be here this week and i will be using it on an 05 silver SS so my car will have the prototype header.

Id get one, thats what I want for a header, a big, long tube collector. Right now, money is an issue for me, but if I could afford one I would buy it.

I'd say the first one won't be available for atleast a month. We're pretty dead set on the price. It might be fine tuned a bit but 599.99 is what we'll be shooting for.

Full stainless steel 1 7/8th Long Tube Header
3" Collector
3 " Downpipe

No nonsense.. No bullshit.

Before anyone asks. No this will not connect to the stock exhaust or 2.5" catback. You will need a custom 3" catback or a ZZP one. Not sure who else has a 3" catback but i'd push you to having a custom one made.

As i said before we expect gains of 25 to 30 wheel horsepower with just stage 2. People running 60's and 2.8" and smaller would gain more.

What's wrong with a loud exhaust aslong as you have the power to back it up?

I'd LOVE to hear your reasons why. They're perfect for a high boost supercharged engine.

Hush, these arent for the average person. This is not a regular bolt-on thing, a header like this is a big-boy part, for someone looking to make 350+. Anything less and you will be wasting power, but once you get to that level you need 3" collectors and big primaries.

This is exactly what this part is designed for. Guys who want to run 2.8" pulley's and smaller. This header should NOT be used with guys who want less then 250whp.

So is this a custom fabrication job or is he investing in a piece of machinery to manufacturer these?
