Ok so you ordered our intake and find it hard to fit in, so here's some tips

1. Take top piece of intake (polished piece) and install the rubber coupler (not the one that connects to supercharger), tighten top clamp on coupler.

2. Lightly brush some oil or grease on end of top piece (only on the end which connects to supercharger)

3. Put supercharger coupler on the end of top piece, push the coupler back so you can easily place top piece in place, now push coupler forward so it will go around the throttle body lip. By turning the coupler and pushing forward it should slip right on. This step is difficult but be patient. Also if you forgot to place the clamps on you can simply open them fully and they will come apart.

4. Don't tighten clamp on the supercharger until last step.

5. Push bottom piece into coupler, make sure it goes in fully.

Now the IMPORTANT STEP:

6. Try to turn top piece and bottom piece at the same time to make the bulge in the inner fender minimized. You can feel the bulge with your hand as you move the intake around. By turing the wheel to the right you can get in there easier.

On the following intake we installed, there was no bulge in the fender:

7. Tighten clamp on low piece.

8. By installing a few zip ties as shown you will eliminate any bulge in the inner fender. This will help pull the intake up away from the fender.

9. You can spray some expanding foam around where the intake goes which will help reduce any water from getting in there.

10. The intake comes very close to the coolant bottle and PCM, we have not seen any problems with this.

11. Try to install the intake as high and forward as you can, this reduces any bulge in the fender.

12. On 07 cobalts you have to push down on the brake lines slightly, you can also cut and place some rubber hoses on these lines.

I guess this might sound stupid, but having fought to install one 3" intake already, maybe you can help me understand something. Why does it look like if the piping was angled better you wouldn't have the intake pressing against the hole in the fender? And why does it look like further tweaking the angles would allow for the intake to come up "sooner" and miss brake lines entirely, as well as come "forward" and away from the ECU? Is it a limitation of how the piping is bent? I just don't get it...... I mean I understand it's tight in there, but I have this nagging thought all the time when looking at these pics as well as the intake I tried to install, that more or adjusted bends would improve the fittment a lot. Don't get me wrong, I intend to buy one in April on the GB, just hoping you can explain what I'm missing here.

...Yeah, "thought" up there ^^^ seems to have a valid point...however i not an expert in the least.

We are always trting to improve out products and will be reviewing the intake on several cars to see if any improvements can be made. Thank you for your input.

it would be a lot easier to see and install the intake if you remove the headlight, i would highly recomend removing the headlight, that is what im going to do when i get mine and install it.

It made the job a lot easier, and allowed me to get a good fit going on.
When I put everything back together, I put the liner back first, then figited with the intake again to minimize the budge in the fender.

Did you get any fender bulge?

A bit at the top.
I made a bracket to clip the top of the fender back to the body, that pretty much eliminated the chance of any problems.

Bump! Back from the dead...i'm finally installing mine and it took me foreever to find this!

ok installed mine twice, what a bitch, and i dunno if its cuz mines lowered or what but i rub like crazy on right turns, dosent fit....

holy hell thats was tough, lol finally got it on wit alil fender buldge but its rubbin on hard rights nemore, thank god

yes, but you need the silicon coupler from the intake to the tb that is 3" and steps up to 3.5" for it to work

Is the coupler offered by RAW?
