New Job.....What to do :)

Hey guys, I thought i would pick your heads on this one. I thus far have a injen CAI. I have a new job and I am wanting to boost the power on my car. I really don't want to waste my money on a GMMP stage kit, I would prefer to assemble the kit by myself and get a quality custom tune. I had a few questions regarding the upgrades. I want to do a smaller pulley, different injectors, and a custom tune. I want a balance of performance and everyday use such as decent fuel economy. Here is a list of the questions.

1. Which fuel injectors do i get, would the 50# give me better fuel economy than 60#
2. Thinking about either 2.8 or 2.9, but i dont know which.
3. Would i need different plugs?
4. How many pounds are the stock fuel injectors in the balt?
5. Go with a hp tuners tune?
6. With this setup, how many horses should i expect?

Other opinions and suggestions are welcomed. If you are going to go to the energy to post a reply that tells me to search for the answers, please dont waste the time to reply or please bless me with your wisdom.
I have read a few previous posts but none were comprehensive.
Thanks guys!

1. I would go with 60lb. injectors
2. 2.8 pulley will provide a very nice boost in performance while keeping things reliable
3. You will need...I believe one step colder plugs (not 100% on that one)
4. Stock injectors are 34lbers.
5. Definatly HPTuners tune
6. I would estimate right around 240ish whp and 230ish wtq.

I would suggest some sort of traction mods to help get the power to the ground and to reduce wheel hop. Motor/Tranny Mounts, Traction Bars, Lowering Springs are all good upgrades for traction. You may need an adjustable tensioner with a 2.8 pulley, I did but many others didn't. Hope that helps.

thanks for the helpful replies. Yeah, i want to keep it really reliable. I think the 2.8 will do it for me. What do you think the crank horsepower would be? Does anybody else know if i need a step colder plugs, and how would i know if i need them and what is the estimated cost of new plugs?

You definatly need atleast one step colder, I'm just not 100% sure if you need two step colder plugs (I'm like 90% sure on the one step tho haha).

60lb injectors because u just want to keep things reliable im sure u could get away with 50s but i would just be reliable if i were u. 2.8 is a great pulley from what i hear. Im waiting on what i do because i want to see what problems people have before i make my decision. should be 240whp with 220-230 wtq

I would think about cooling for a 2.8 too . Maybe a cobra H/E and a dual pass for reliability. I didn't go with a true 2.9 (have a 2.99 stg3) because i'm paranoid about heat and didn't want to mess with cooling mods yet.

good point rukkee, i am not sure i want to screw with cooling mods yet either. My tech level is probably equal to a second graders. But i am confident i want to do something.
