shift lights
im not sure if theres already a thread about shift lights or not i looked a little but i couldnt find any. but here it goes. i'm getting a shift light this saturday and i'm curious. of those whom put there shift light in themselves, was it hard or a pain in the ass. i dont want to start ripping apart my dash until i kno if it's simple or a pain.

lol just mocking some of the people on this site to get me to 2000 post lol..its true tho..im suprised no has put it yet...like knowing when to shift is ricey..maybe then seen me trolling this thread haha and know i'd flame um
"ricer" or not. they keep my shifts on point. ANY WAY i was thinking of hiding it in my heat vent. my buddy's brother had the light in his camaro z28 ls1 heat vent and it was pretty sick..now as far as i kno a camaro z28 ls1 isnt "ricy"
I dunno why, but this all this reminded me of seeing some guy in a civic coming up to work, and he had the triple gauge pod or whatever, and the bottom gauge was this HUGE freakin' tach, I mean it had to have been 6 inches across, and it was glowing really really bright blue, totally dominated the cabin, most rediculous looking thing I'd ever seen.
On topic, the hideaway shift lights are pretty nifty when you do it right, not ricey at all.

when i started this thread i was looking for advice on how hard or easy the dash board comes off. i have a little 2 in. long 7 led red shift light that i want to HIDE In my heater vent. not a big disgusting looking 1.6liter honda tach that you can see from a mile away. its hidden and out of sight until you hit your set rpms. now does ANY ONE know if the dash is hard to rip apart?
I have a raptor. works great is cheap. look up FaSSt on cardomain in 2005 Cobalt SS. you will find page 5 or 7 where you find many pics of how I did mine. the only thing I would do differently is perhaps put it in an a vent so it is not seen visibly. that is the "anti-rice" way of installing LOL. but I have to say it was the best mode because the engine would rev faster than the tach. prevented me from hitting the rev limiter but also to get the car dialed to do 13.9 with GMS2. I would watch the tach for shifting end of first at 5000 (reality that was probably 5500rpm) then shift by the light which was set for 6200 so I probably got the shift in at 6500. then let it run out. the car could go faster. my 60ft was 2.260. I have done 2.17. maybe 13.7 is possible?
ANyway . shift light is FTW
By the way of all the parts I had for my car..... I wont sell the shift light. WB I considered it. the SHIFT Light? never entered my mind.

You should do like the old NFS games and have the shift light start to turn yellow when approaching the shift point then RED when you need to shift. Add a tone for a good shift and you're set! MUAHHAHAHAH!!
