these are OEM replacement....and are supposed to be exactly like the stock. However in many applications we noticed the Exedy withstanding a lot more abuse than the actual OEM that came with the car....

so yeah!!!

I wonder if this kit is indeed exactly like the OEM clutch or if they branched off to make an OEM replacement, which would probably mean it holds better.

From our experience with a bunch of different applications, the Exedy OEM replacement clutch kits have been able to hold out more abuse than the actual original OEM.

Back when I had my RX-7, I bought an OEM replacement clutch through Rotary Performance (www.rx7.com). It was manufactuered by Exedy, and was designed to be a replacement OEM clutch, basically a notch down from a stage 1. I believe the stage 1 clutch for that car had a 30% higher holding capacity, and the OEM replacment model that I put on my RX had 11% higher holding capacity. So yeah, these probally hold a tad better than stock.
