silvania silverstar vs silverstar ultra vs piaa intense white
im looking for some new headlight bulbs for my car (tired of the dim stockers). my dad also happens to be looking for some for his dakota, he has gone through 3 sets of GE nighthawks in less than 2 years now.
ive always had good luck with piaa extreme white bulbs. i have heard mixed results on the sylverstar bulbs, some like em, some hate em, and ive heard the life expectancy of the sylverstar ultras is rather low (most people getting 3-6 months).
anyone that has tried used both piaa and sylvania??? piaa bulbs are pricey however i did have the extreme whites for 2 years without an issue untill my car accident (were the filiments fell off the bulbs, they didnt shatter even though the glass h4 housing did). sylvanias are a bunch cheaper but if i gotta replace em after 6 months it negates the price difference.
any thoughts, and dont say go hid and projectors, not gonna happen.

I had silverstar ultras in my old focus for about 8 months and then got into a bad front end accident that cracked my rad support and destroyed my hood and and fenders etc.
The bulbs survived and I kept them in for another 4 months or so before I sold that car.
The bulbs fit into my Cobalt so I took em out and they've been in for about 4 months now... one of them only just went out. So about 16 months + a huge car crash for them to die lol.

no difference in brightness its just in how long they will last, or at least thats what i was told when i bought my sillverstars, i love em the low beam with em are about as bright as the highs on the stockers
I have regular Silverstars in mine, just got them on Wensday and i like them. At first, I thought they were actually worse than the stock lights, but once I drove I was wrong. Plus, they have a VERY SLIGHT tint of blue to them. I paid $30 for mine brand new.
hey steve...I've had the silverstars in my Cavalier and they were great, right now I have the bulbs from Vision in the G5 and they're great too...I'm probably going to go with the Vision bulbs HID kit.
$166 CDN and free shipping to Canada...can't go wrong there.
