Exedy problems on LSJ
Hey, I just had my Exedy clutch installed and it only lasted me one day before the slave popped out of plast and killed itself and got brake fluid all inside of my tranny.... has anyone else had any problems or is this just installation error by the dumbasses who put mine in?
The slave in these cars is weak, you should always reclace it when doing a clutch. Especially with the heavier force it requires to push on the Exedy.
I put one in and a week last was pulling the transmission to replace the slave because it was sucking in air.

Ya, I vacuum blead it and it just wouldn't hold vacuum. My fluid level went down after a bit, if the car sat, I'd have to pump up the pedal to even have a working clutch. But ya, slave fixxed it. Just sucks having to do it all over again but that's all part of it. lol
The slave cylinder muct be replaced every time the tranny comes out period! I have had the tranny off the car 5 or six times now and every time I replace it. If not, you'll be looking foward to at least a minimum of another 8-9 hours to pull the trans back out to replace the damn thing! I also found out that if you vacuum bleed it and overdue it even a little bit you can screw it up. The old school clutch bleeding method has worked great for me the past couple times, so I'm sticking with that.
I have the Exedy Hypersingle and it is by far the best clutch I have owned in the car, and I had three versions of the Clutchmasters FX300 and the stocker before it and they all sucked in my opinion.
