I remember something like that on display at SEMA I think. I was originally developed for Rally cars and had an add an ignition interupter designed into the shifter assembly so the driver wouldnt have touch the clutch to shift. He could just keep his foot on the gas and just rip the gears.

 

too bad they don't make one for our cars
