As long as its just surface rust, you should be fine. If your car sits for a few days in wet conditions, usually a little surface rust develops.

mine were warped after a year and about 7 months so i did the group buy from thmotorsports for the slotted stoptech rotors, and i got some hawk ceramics, and the combo has been amazing.. no dust on my 18s and no noise, and they love cold weather, havnt driven them in the spring or summer or fall so i dont no how they will perform there.. but they kick ass.. they dont wair fast either and are gentle on my rotors..

Unhappy Rotors on my 07 Balt SS

I noticed the shaking on the rear when I brake.
I was told by a GM Service manager, that this was a common problem with Cobalts in general along with the HHR since they use the same parts pool to make them.

They want to turn the rotor and with that it should be fine but the warping is more of an issue as to why it did it in under 6 months.

I'm going to push them to replace the brakes with ceramics and vented rotors. I think the brake performance would be comparable to the semi metalics....
Also look at your hood.... does anyone else have a gouge in the bumper, radiator rapping from the hood vibrating down on it? Mine has two little wear gouges from the hood. the stops are not high enough to stop it and I will have to get them to do body work on that under warranty...
