I don't know about you guys, but when I read this site, I open every thread that interests me in a new window, until I get back to where I was when I was last on. After opening 5 or 6 windows, my laptop couldn't take much more of it. Maybe he was getting similar problems.

use a tab supported browser ... I use maxthon which is hella better than firefox and uses only a small amount of resources plus it supports internet explorer functions so you get a higher amount of compatibility. On a side note to using more tabs, you can also set the tabs to refresh every say 30 seconds or so that way you can have like 6 windows open refreshing independantly that way you can tell when someone has posted a new comment

It supports internet explorer functions because it uses internet explorer for browsing. Maxthon is moreless a shell, or an early IE7.

But, I liked the snow effect too, used it last year on my site.
