How can I beat this HONDA!?

Alright... cut things short.. About 2 weeks ago i raced a hatch civic... hes got alot of **** done to it and i lost because i spun and possibly sliped clutch... (couldn't hear or feel cuz hes exhaust was so loud and i didn't have my motor mount n trans mount in...
4 days later I got my mounts all in and lowering springs in...we raced again... 3 times... we raced from a dead stop... i beat him... then we raced from a 10 mph roll i lost because of spinning... then he wanted to get a friends ECU in to make in even faster... (supposedly its fast enough to beat an SRT4. I raced him and i won by 5-6 car lengths... His ignition was f'ed up so we're gonna race again soon...
I Need to know how I'd be able to beat him... He's fast and light... He isn't the greatest driver but idk... we are gonna go from a 30mph roll so there shouldn't be any traction issues...
Im gonna do a good weight reduction... but what else is there...
Besides runnin a 1/4 tank of gas... Octane boost a waste???
THANKS...

P.S I can't make the COBALTS LOOK BAD BY LOSING TO A HONDA!!!!!!

Unless you are going to tune for it, yes the octane boost will be a waste.

Are you on the stock pulley?

Take out the back seats, passenger seat and spare tire.

Tune your afr to as close to perfect as possible, then lean it out just a touch for more power.

What are your mods?

octane boost is a waste period....you got a 15 gallon tank in the average car, you get a gallon of octane booster (typically between 120-130 octane)...you're running 93, with a $25 bottle of octane booster you are going to increase your effective octane rating in your whole tank by less than one point. You are better off spending that cash toward a tank of turbo blue or something around 100 octane.

x2...ur pulley will make a big diff. if u get a smaller one, the pulley can turn quicker, hence, more boost ftw.

Down here in Orlando we have Central Florida Turbo. their boosted civics and Integra's are faster than twin turboed Supras and Dodge vipers.......So sometimes you have to hand it to them and give credit when credit is due. But uhmm, you should be able to beat him. I raced a boosted civic and was pullin on him through first and part of second while I was spinning the tires.

FYE, here is the integra: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2PDvqobRsI

common misconception octane booster doesn't raise performance its prevents knock, and unless you plan on tuning and increasing timing its not gonna do ****

it doesn't do anything period...i can prove it to you mathematically if you'd like. If you spend 50 bucks on octane booster it'll give you a 1.5 point increase in your octane level if ur running 93. the increase is larger if ur running say 87, but it is definately never worth the money.

octane boost can also help if you use nitrous.

Get a smaller pulley and you'll have a much better chance.

Subscribed for results.

Too bad you're not here. Tuning is key!

DO NOT Run a smaller pulley (especially that small) without heavier injectors and tuning. I'm sure you want to keep your engine in one piece...

That reminds me, I used to work with a guy who had a S2000, and of course he wanted to run me to see if my car could move or not. So we ran, but before we did he was like, "Give me a second I have to turn the VTECH on" and i said, "you'll need it". So we run from a 45 roll, (I was bone stock, he had an intake) first race he won by about a fender, second go around I took him by a couple cars(he missed a shift) and third he took me by a fender again. the next day he goes..."Damn, if I didn't have the VTECH on you would have kicked my ass"
