remove splash guards

how do i remove the splash guards so it looks "nice"? can i just un-pop the tabs that hold it on or do i need to metal-snip it off? if you have done this please tell me an easy and quick way to do this and if you have any provide pics or PM me pics. ive posted a thread about this on *************** and didnt get many responses, so id just like to get a few more replies and opinions...
