You think Pontiac will make a Coupe supercharged version of the G6??? the reason i ask is becauase i drive by the local Chevrolat dealership, seen the cobalt sedan, and thought it was a G6 until i walked up on it and seen the "Cobalt" decals on the back. so i was thinkin, since the Cavalier and Sunfire were the same thing, you think they'll make a Supercharged Coupe G6????

 

The Pontiac Pursuit is Cobalt’s sister car. The G6 is bigger and it is on a different platform. With that, the question is, will they make a s/c Pontiac Pursuit?

I believe there are plans for a G6 GXP, which may very well be supercharged. But as the others have noted, the G6 is on the larger Epsilon platform, not Delta.

I think its quite nice looking, I have heard it WON'T be supercharged, atlhough I couldn't think of the GXP label without. Supposedly this concept had a 275hp inline V6.

they will probably have some form of supercharged vehicle in the future...So far nothing is set. The GTP uses the 3.9L so its not S/C. The GXP version didnt have one yet. But that can still change for that model

 

I did not knows this. Car looks decent. Resembles a cobalt a lot though.

 

Yeah there are some common things between the 2(maybe thats why I like it so much), Expecially the tail lights on the sedan. But technically the cobalt resembles the G6 since it was out first

 

don't count on a s/c for a while...... the GXP will have the 3.9(Impala, etc, pushrod 240ish hp), maybe in the future it will get the buick/caddy 3.6(260-275hp) like was origionally rumored......

although I don't expect it, I wouldn't rule out a s/c or turbo 3.9, due to the popularity of the 3800...

 

My question is, "Will they bring the Pursuit to the U.S.?" They just announced that this is the last year for the Sunfire and they apparently aren't going replace it immediately, but I get the feeling that there will be a Delta Pontiac sold here eventually (with the name "Pursuit" or "G4".)

 

I think there is a good chance that Pontiac would s/c the G6. Seeing that the Cobalt has started off on the right path, it would be to their benefit if they ever want a chance at taking on the Cobalt .

 

if they brought the pursuit to u.s.a. they would really need to change it some, you cant tell the difference between the cobalt and the pursuit, not untill you are close enough to read the chevy or pontiac symble.

they wont bring it state side though because sales for the sunfire were absolutely weak for the sunfire. In canada they dont even offer the pursuit in coupe form because sunfire coupe sales were so weak.

 

Well the G6 as it stands has a 240HP V6/6 speed GTP trim. Now this is normally the highest trim, but Pontiac has at times released special GXP trims that have been a bit more performance, I.e. 3.8 Supercharged upgraded to a 5.3L V8.

Whether this will translate to the G6 will be another story.

 

The Pursuit coupe comes out this fall. Not sure of the split between sedan and coupe but for May 2005, the Sunfire was the #4 top selling car in Canada (the Cobalt was #7, I think).

 

The test mules have been out on the road a while ago and the productions are out with the manufacturor plates on them. Last time I was in Michgian in Waterford (where I used to live) I passed a blue Pontiac Pursuit sedan on William's Lake Road. It looks identicle to the Cobalt other than Pontiac badges in place of the Chevy ones (obviously).

Lol Im a proud owner of a pontiac pursuit 2005 and the only thing Ican told to you is that is the same thing as the cobalt except the white face gauge and the interior color.I dont think GM would bring the model to the us because they said erlier that the pursuit will only be on sale in canada.

 

The G6 IS NOT supercharged. They use the 3.9 liter in the GTP coupe/sedan version.

As of right now there are only 3 vehicles that GM is using a supercharged engine for 2006:

Cobalt SS (2.0 S/C)
Ion Red Line (2.0 S/C)
Grand Prix GT (The GTP is gone, there is only Base (3800 Series III), GT (3800 Series III S/C), GXP (5.3 L V8) for the Grand Prix now)

Not to put down a great looking pontiac.. but i looked into purchasing the coupe g6... but stopped myself due to the interior looking so bland i fell asleep when i sat in it at the dealership.

other then that, I think the G6 is a nice car... you just have to deal with the typical pontiac problems though
