Well I'm running a 245/40 18 on 18x8 rims and I can tell you that lowered with 245's is very close! I doubt 255 would work without rubbing.

Also 255/40's would be too tall, they'll throw off your speedo.

Okay, I do appreciate it. I will run 245's then. How much lower are you and you never rub?

A 225 is -smaller- than a 245. They will clear fine, but you'll have that drifter streach thing going on.

I am running 255 40 18 in back 245 40 18 front

The speedo is off. But I know what it is supposed to be. It is only 1 or 1 1/2 mile off.
No rubbing on the front and the back is ok also KDW's

I just recieved my 18"x8" (+40 offset) rims and I really want to go with a 245/40/18 tire size. There are a few people that I noticed have this size...has anyone had any fitment issues with this size tire??

NOPE! No fitment issues or rubbing here and I'm dropped on Sportlines. Lemme know if you want pics. Oh wait, DUH! Just go look at the COTM! Its mine!

Awsome, I guess that I'll order my tires in a week or so...now I have another decision...what tires? I've been doing lots of research and for that specific size looks like the Bridgestone Ponteza RE-01R may be the best tire to go with. Anyone have/had this tire?

I am going to go with either the Nitto 555 super aggressive street style or the Dunlop Dizzieras, misspelled because both are excellent in straight line....which is what we have a problem with in these everyday.... oh and thanks again to all that are posting. Oh, and yeah...it will have the drifter thing going, but it does look cool on these cars lol

Why waste money? Check out Falkens! I got mine shipped for $80 something each! And yes they are "Z" rated tires and all weather and yes they do fine in the snow, great in rain and awesome on dry roads.

If it helps, I have had the Dunlop Direzza DZ101s for about 800 miles and I love 'em. Good straight line traction and I like 'em in the corners, too. I have them in 225/45/18.

Tire direct or something lke that I think. Just shop around but Falkens are less expensive then any others and perform just as well.
