Hey Hall Street is downtown by the riverfront, if you want to go give me your number and ill call you mine is 314-807-0163 (Jake). Anyway whats up with your car? I might know the problem is it running weird or anyhting and do you have an Intake?.........Go to an Autozone and get it cleared for free and they will tell you what the problem is too, but their scan tools sometimes cant pick everything up.

Yea Lucas, and there is no difference in the Air Box Mod. Only way would have been drag strip or dyno. But because I slip goign into 2nd, drag strip wont help at the moment.

I see, but it does sound better right? I wanna look at your car sometime and see the ABM. That won't effect your warranty will it?

Your clutch is slipping?

I can effect your warranty if they can prove your intake was the cause of the breakage. Now i didnt do a great ABM because I didnt feel like cutting it all the way. So I just took the bottom piece off our Air box, then cut a little portion of it off to get the filter tight. Now the sound is great. You can hear the wine outside of my car over my exhaust.

Yea, my clutch is slipping. Only when i go into 2nd though. When i redline first and go right into 2nd, rpm's raise like crazy, and i go no where. Then the clutch smell enters the car and makes me want to

I see I see, yeah that sucks about your clutch. I know what that smell is, LOL not a good one. I had that happen to me in my Tiburon when I was at the track. It would on happen when my clutch got hot though. My shop told me that was the helicpter effect. It would try to engage at such high RPM's it would cause it to float like a helicopter spinning and there for burning the clutch. So I put a stage 3, 6 puck clutch in it. That clutch had no spin at all. It was on or off. Great for drag racing and the track but in the city it was a pain in my.... to drive.

Did you know that the clutch was slipping when you bought it?

Nope, if i would have known, i would have asked them to put a new one in or no purchase would have been made... Thats the joy of having to have your dad go with you to test drive a car. Never bought a car so i needed a co signer and i was not able to get on it with him in the car. I didnt get on it either for a little bit when i got it neither

Well that sucks man. Yeah I had to have a co-signer on mine too. (My Dad)
But I bought my car before I ever drove it. I knew what I wanted and I just got it. But I didn't have to worry about much. I bought my car brand new. Just had to wait a week before it came in.

So what you thinking about doing with the clutch?
Rock it till it goes, or a new one. The only bad thing is that a new clutch is pricy. 4 to 5 hundy sticks for a good one and to have someone put it in is about 400 aswell. I know I put a new one in my last car.

Just wondering, your warranty is still good so why not have GM just replace it?

A clutch is a wear item and is not covered under warranty. My car has 27k on it so it will not be covered. Not with your car, some dealers may warranty it if under 11k ive heard. Im probably going to go with a spec or act clutch and i can have it put in for $200 by a friend i used to work with.

I see, yeah the ACT clutchs are pretty good all around, I don't know about the other one. I put a clutch masters in my old car and it was awesome. Thats good that you have help with the car and putting in a clutch. Just make sure he knows what he's doing. I won't let just anyone touch my car. I don't have a problem paying for it aslong as its done right.

Since you are gonna change out the clutch you should save up and get a new fly wheel too. A lighter fly wheel makes a heck of a difference. Just an idea, that's what I did on my Tib and the throttle respone was amazing.

Guy putting my clutch in is an ASE certified mechanic that helped me buiuld my MR2. I also have ASE's but i dont trust myself with that kind of thing.. Never learned how to do transmission. And i really am not worried about flywheel at this point. Just worried about this clutch. Makes me mad
