Pics of the 08 SS from Detroit

I see Reign already uploaded a pic , but I just uploaded all mine b4 I saw his post so Im posting them dmnit I too was able to get the hood open and snap a bunch of pics , a GM guy rushed over a closed it though pretty qwik . The guy that opened it got in trouble ...its a freakin Cobalt , whats the big deal

Anways .....

The new seats are AWESOME . I have the Recaros in my SS and IMO the new seats are superior . Their every bit as supportive , and the new suede and link cloth are alot more grippy . I want them ....just not it light grey . All black would be sweet . So nice job GM on these !

Up close grills

Production brakes
front

Rear

Engine shots I was able to get . ITs doesnt look too bad to work on at all .

I think u can see the chasity belt wrapped around the Bosch PCM

The Metallic Yellow was pretty sweet , and Im not a yellow fan . I did not like the wheels in person as much as I did in pics . Gimmie the seats and the brakes for my 05 though

........and the backseats actually do match the fronts now . The same cloth and suede pattern is on the rears . The strips that line the side of the seats are leather/pleather and so are the door panel inserts .

Upper and Lower Grilles and wheels look good.

Did you notice the intake manifold and TB are upside down?

I'm surprised they didn't lean that engine forward... I was there today looking at it... and as small as that turbo is; its already REALLY damn close to the firewall. Not much room AT ALL. Nothing a hammer can't fix though.

Its microsuede , not real suede . Which is a good thing . Microsuede looks 100% like real stuff , but it wears a million times better .

Eurochevy- u can still get the black/black and red/black ...just no more blue or yellow .

I went to the autoshow as well and I must tell you, they rated the power specs now down to 250bhp & 222lbs of torque. When I get my digital camcorder I will post the information

I do like the fact that the boost gauge is 30 vac/30 psi readings now.

The seats were nice and comfy but everything else about the car felt the same. When I get to take one for a test drive I'm sure I won't miss out on much.

P.S this turbo is so overpushed if you want to accomplish any better numbers your better off swapping the unit out with something bigger.

Thats baffling , the plaque right next to the car said 260/260 on Sunday . Those look like HHR SS 's power #'s when the auto trans is used .

The stand alone plaque next to the motor when it's broken down in detail states 250bhp and 222lbs of tq. I think GM is exagerrating the numbers on the turbo coupe SS a tad. It's certaintly not 260bhp by any stretch. I'm sure someone will try to prove me wrong but that's my personal opinon. Especially the torque. That snail is so overworked already. You get most of your torque it says at 1650rpm already which tells you the turbo is small and spools quick but doesn't have enough "umph" for some good top end. More of a midrange turbo..
