GM doesnt cover clutches????

I just bought a 06 cobalt ss, and I added a 100,000 mile warrenty with a wear and tear package for like 2,000 dollars extra......They said they will cover everything that would go wrong bumper to bumper everything but....belts,tires,batteries,oil changes/filters thats the list he gave me. He never said that it didnt cover clutches now i was wondering since I got a wear and tear package if it would cover clutches.

Don't know about the 'wear and tear' package, not familiar with it. However, normal bumper to bumper does NOT cover the clutch.

I highly doubt it. Cause if your clutch burns up they say you were "racing" and they will void your warranty and cause you to have to buy a new clutch. GM is not too buyer friendly.

There is NO SUCH THING as a "Bumper to bumper" warranty. Tell any salesman or finance person you talk to that you know there are always exceptions.

But the same could be said about doing burn outs, and if they cover tires then they should cover a clutch.

I would call GM the 1800 number should be in your manual and ask them.

under 12,000 miles, yes it should be warrantied depending on how friendly the dealer is

if you have it noted on previous visits under 11k miles, then you'll most likely have a winning case here (again, depending on the dealer)

also, the car cannot show signs of abuse

Yea stuff like that depends on the type of dealer you have because they can look over your service history.

Odds are the contract is not through GM. Do you know what company it is through?

A CLUTCH HAS A ONE YEAR 12,000 mile or 20,000 km warrenty as it is a wearable item.

Usually this apply to FIRST owners only as well

yeah/ 12 month 12k mile warranty on clutches. thats gm warranty.

your warranty on the 06 is not a gm warranty, its extended through another company and they cover whatever they want to cover.

Even then, if you come into the dealer with bald tires, you're not getting a clutch.
