Why are OEM 16" wheels so expensive?
Why are OEM 16" wheels so expensive?
This is not a WTB post.
I'm looking at some 16" wheels for my LT. I like the look of the OEM 16" wheels that comes on the 2LT package (there were none when I got mine LT/1LT).
So I check ebay as a good source for market price. And most are asking for around $140 + shipping. I think they are expensive for "used" OEM wheels. I would think most people replace their OEM 16" for 17" or 18". So they are "getting rid" of their OEM, so it should be "cheaper", right? They cost more than most aftermarket wheels.
So what does the Cobalt OEM wheels command such high dollar?

True. But I figure those who are selling these wheels probably bought aftermarket wheels. So therefore, it's sitting in their garage taking up space. Therefore, wouldn't they sell them "cheap" to get them out?
Take the Dodge Charger/Magnum OEM 18" alloy wheel. They go for about $250+ a set. Most of those guys get 20" wheels. Even at $250 is a hard sell, because base model guys would still want 20".
I guess that's not the case with Cobalts.
