Well some of you Charlotte tuners may get some stuff for me, unless I buy the HPT stuff, but Area47 has all my tunes!

what kinda crate motor are you gonna get to work in a 07 LS? These cars are computerized to hell and back... I don't see anything but trouble with an engine swap.

the motor is completely swapable and only requires a dyno tune for proper fuel delivery and max power ya kno all that happy crap only downside is that thers a 2g core charge which i assume is on top of the 2600 dollar cost of the motor but thats not bad for a motor capable of sustaining 300 whp with no mods and higher with a little extra work

I got my tuning done at RPM in garner, but I don't think i'd suggest it. He boasted a 20-30hp gain and only got me 7hp. They normally work on v8's so i guess he doesnt know 4bangers well.. but either way, thats where i went, and where i go for any other work i may need that i cant do/too lazy to do..

lol threadjacking should be a felony jk..

Hey man, next time your headed into raleigh, hit me up. I've been dying to mess around with some other cobalts since no one around here is motivated to meet up. I am taking the balt in for a ticking valve(probably cause I drive like an *******), so after i get that cleared up, i would like to do a couple pulls. Especially since last time we met you were having clutch issues. Next time we can get some cleaner starts if your down.

BTW, RPM is a pretty cool shop, but like I said, Ryan didnt get me the gains i was hoping for. They are pretty nice to me considering i have less than half the displacement they are used to working on. If you do head out there, let me know and i'll try to roll out there with ya. atleast do a dyno day or something. And Ricky, if your reading this, bring your ass out there too. I havent seen ya in a while..

I think that my tune was 350 actually.. I cant remember though, its been a while. And as cool as those guys are, I just don't know if im happy with my tune. Like I said before, I only got 7hp out of it, when he said I could get 20-30. Perhaps he was just being a salesman to get me to come back for the tune. But I really thought I would atleast get 15hp out of the sloppy stage 2 tune.

Your call though. Your mods are a lil more extensive than mine, so he could probably squeeze more hp out. And they are always nice to me. Ive been up a few times to switch back and forth between stock tune and his custom tune and they have no problem with it. But beware.. They are v8 guys so there may be some laughing in the background lol.

But yeah, they a pretty cool bunch of dudes. Just don't expect the finest tune since they are used to v8s, so 4bangers arent their expertise.

Let me know when any of you guys go up there. I'm dying for some cobalt companionship lol.

Good luck with that one Rick. I have found that the locals are impossible to organize. That means you too! But if you get it going, you can count me in..
