We have no price yet. We just CAD draw item with simulation 3D. We will have sample coming next week. I will install item for 6speed once we're ready. Also we may need volunteer for the 2.2L Cobalt near our warehouse local member.

And ARK Coilover system also on development process. :cssNET:

First sample coming next week, if there is any issue.

Also, we're manufacturing with AL2024 grade aluminum for the all billet material product. No more AL6061 because it is too weak. Upgraded material and better performance.

I don't believe they do. If someone knows more about this post up the info. The linkage that connects the transmission is moving the same distance regardless of the shifter installed, so I don't think there is a problem.

It should sit high. It's the throw that should be shorter, not the height of the shifter. Maintaining the ergonomics (height) of the stock shifter while making the throws shorter requires real engineering and is the real performance benefit to an STS. Sorry about the rant, it just bothers me that people think a short throw shifter has to be short in height.

Grrr, I mean it looks like it sits high when compared to even the factory shifter, but that could be the top hat of a knob on top... My personal preference would be something that sits about 1-1½" lower, that is all, I am not saying it should be one way or the other...

ARKracing
03-22-2008, 03:25 PM
yes.. it is true, ARK knob is bigger and larger than other B&M or Hurst Knob. it is about 1/2" bigger. and it is all billet 2042 AL, not a milding plastic knob. so it is heavier than other knob. It is better to shift softly... and getting shift reduction.

I don't think that's true, it's not close enough to the dash, and if you look closely it reaches about halfway up the climate control knobs, and the radio is above that. and comparing to the picture of the stock shifter I don't really see a difference in height.

The shifters look nice . I had to totally re-engineer my B&M to make it actually feel good .

Next project should be designing a billet shifter base( nest ) that the shifterball sits in with integrated adjustable stops . It just absulutely sucks how sloppy this cable shifter system is in these cars . In any gear you can push the shifter too far . It would be nice to have a stop point for the shifter when its fully in gear . Not sure if something like this is possible to acheive with the Cobalt shifter design , but it would be a major improvement .

If you consider the information that was provided before, and do the math I would expect the sts to be through customs and available some time around May 3rd, but considering he said there would be "a little delay with the container schedule" we might have to wait a little while longer.

heeros1

round wouldn't be bad ether, but I'm just happy it isn't anything weird, like a stick with a button on top. It looks like you should be able to swap them as long as the threads match up. so if I do want a different one I could just twist it off instead of having those stupid plastic clips(like on the original one).

I have to say, I'm really getting impatient. the original post mentioned these should be available by the end of February, which was 3 months ago, and a little later it was said that they would arrive beginning of this month. I hate to say this, but having us wait this long without any information on what the holdup is, and when they will actually be available is not very customer friendly.

We're working on it. We don't really release product after our fitting test... we wait until our warranty period. If anything goes wrong, we do R & D Again... so it takes time. But we're going to release SS/SC short shifter soon.

Thanks

could these work on the ssc? and just not have the reverse lock out?

The ones with no reverse lockout definitely work, it just doesn't stop you from going into reverse as there is no lockout ring to pull up. So as long as you dont go hunting for fourth gear and horibbly miss, you will be OK.
