Exclamation Best Stage 2 Pulley size??

Im going with the gm stage 2 and i was wondering if i should get a 2.9 or a 2.85 Pulley, since they run really rich.

Will gm install the smalle pulley?. i have no warranty
and i have a k&N intake for mods.

Do a search. You will find a million threads debating this same topic. Some say it's safe, others say its not. Some will say it is with bigger injectors. The only thing they seem to agree on is if you get a 2.85... tuning is a must. With a 2.9, tune at your leisure. But the general rule is if you go 2.85 you will need bigger injectors (and possibly colder plugs) and a different tune other than the Stage2.

Yeah, a 2.9 will help you boost higher faster and there isn't any tuning you need to do. Just get it tuned when you can (it'll run fine on the S2 tune)... just for overall performance benefit.

The 2.85" is pushing the limits of the Stage 2 tune. I just moved up from the 2.85 but I have had my 2.85 on the car since I got stage 2 installed, got tuned shortly there after!

Rule of thumb if you aren't getting tuned get a 2.9" if you plan to tune shortly there after get a 2.85"!

yeah I was planning on doing the same getting at stage 2 with a 2.9 pulley. will i do fine with that pulley knowing that it gets over 100 degrees over here in the summer. Would I have any temp. problems? if not is it easy to switch the pulleys every now and then?

WOW, did you become a moderator!

SyP I love to see that race Area vs. SyP.... although I already know the outcome!

But back on topic! 2.9 if you aren't getting tuned, or 2.85" if you are getting tuned!

its not area, its split image...and it wouldnt be a race, it would be a really tough lesson that syP needs to learn.

get a 2.8 inch

If i was at sea level i would have trapped alot higher then 108.6 or whatever... 3500ft elevation ftl.

also if u beat 2.6 kids, that because they didnt surround it properly, mine ran mint, 20+ degrees of timing, low temps, 19-20 psi, no knock, please explain how u could even come close.... oh cause u have cams? or a valve train that lets u over rev... LEWL....please.

your good at being bad at life, thats for sure.

Thats why alot of 2.8 guys can run them safe is because of elevation . At sea level a 2.8 on 42's is a bad idea with the stage tune .
