For those that have had their car tuned..

Just a quick survey on people that have had their car tuned.

What kind of gains did you see from the tune alone? I recently have been talking to a couple people about my tune and my dissapointment with it, and it made me wonder what kind of gains people got from just tuning their car. I only got 7hp from the gain, and considering he boasted 20-30, i was a little surprised. So I am wondering what the average gain for just a tune would be.

It all depends how conservative you go or how crazy you want it.

average gain is 10~15 whp on the milder side. you can pull out 20~25 whp if you are pushing the car hard

Most boxed tunes run really rich to be safe. The more you correct the afr, the more safe power you will get. Going further is dangerous if you don't know what you are doing, or don't have appropriate safety mods, but can yield higher gains.

depends on mods really. and how agressive the tuner is.

mine can range from -30 {messing with someone} or pulling 45 hp out of my ass

^^^Yeah man, tuning a stock balt will give you gains.

Yeah, I told the tuner to go relatively conservative, but still go a little aggressive. I was hoping for 15hp..

wow.. good to know.. maybe that should be everyones first mod... i mean if im not mistaken, after any "bolt on" or whatever, you could go back in a tweak it a lil bit everytime right?

I need to bug RAFLYER again for a tune. Rob is the man when it comes to tuning. I might go wideband first though.

10-15 whp is a pretty big gain

probably 10-20hp depending on how agressive you are.
the S2 tune is very conservative.
