Broken Balt

Well I just woke up from a much needed rest after getting my car towed to the dealership at 5:30am. It decided to slowly lose gears second and fourth throughout the night til i pulled up to a stop light and had no gears at all. The shifter just moves around without any effort at all. Not exactly sure what would cause it but it's waiting to go in monday now. Anyone have any ideas? Better be covered under warranty.

That's what I was thinking. Just wierd how i lost the gears slowly. I should note it was -50 out with the windchill last night.

That sucks!
Yeah, the cold is defiantly hard on cars.
It's probably the linkage, as everyone said. It was about this cold when I broke the linkage in my old car.
It probably lost the gears slowly, cause the pin only half sheared off.... then finally let loose at the stop light.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. You should see if the dealer could "accidently" install a Stage kit upgrade for the hassle anyway.
My winter car has survived thusfar, but it really handles like a tank in this cold.
Our ford trucks here at work (07 and 08) are breaking down (not to mention getting wrecked) a lot too. But then again, they are fOrD's.

Well, just heard back from the dealership. Things don't sound pretty. All i know is they are ripping apart the transmission tomorrow. Obviously wasn't anything simple.
