went autocrossing today

a friend of mine asked me if i wanted to co-drive his car today, so i figured what the hell. he has a mildly modded 88 mazda 323 gtx awd turbo. first time out autocrossing, didnt do too bad all things considered. i didnt take out any cones, only spun the car around once. i got 10 runs, my best being a 35.2, were the track record today was a 33.4, and i wasnt far off my buddys time in the same car of a 34.5. there was a pretty low car count, so after 10 runs it was only 2:30 and the sun finally came out and ran some fun runs, were i took my unprepped cobalt for 5 runs. that was pretty much a disaster, 16" snowies with 32psi in em, no lsd, around 250hp and a novice driver. the track was rather wet, so anytime i stepped into the throttle all i had was the inside tire spinning. i still managed to get a 37.1, although i know with some decent rubber on my 18s and dry track will help a lot, aswell as some stage 3 driver mods

pics to follow

Congrats and welcome to the addiction/heartache/best thing you can do to improve your driving skills. Here's hoping you'll come back for more.

I gotta admit, I love that "stage 3 driver mods" line!
