Horrible resale value

I just appraised my car, and it ain't worth **** Even the 2.0 SS with OnStar, mooroof, side airbags, etc is still junk! check it out..

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2005/che...n.1.Chevrolet*

The reason why i did this is because I smell divorce soon, and I wanna get rid of my car. I was highly disappointed

You have to expect high depeciation the first year on any domestic.

Its a double edge deal... People dont want to pay anything for the car 17-19k so your not going to get more on a trade in than 14-16k - supply and demand

You'll be waiting awhile... Just like the majority of F-bodies on the road, most SSes will get ragged out and abused while a handful are well kept.

That’s ok. I found the perfect fbody (check my sig) and it was well worth the search and the drive to go get her.

I can wait for the same perfect SS

It says resale is 19161.00; I paid 19500.00 so I'm good with that.

ok told me if i sold it its worth 16k. it took off 53 dollas for my car being black. anotha 28 for where i live. sometimes it does not take into account that it is not a car being produced in large quantities. like they appraised my dads ruby red vet for 17 or 18. i went onto a collectors page and found them for like 25-30 range. you need to take that into account.

Same here, this coming summer I'll be spending some quality time on Autotrader to find me a sweet deal on a low mileage SS S/C

I just did mine . With options , regional adjt. , color and miles I got $18,500 for a non-certified and 19,250 for certified dealer sale . That was also subtracting $340 for high miles . I only paid a hair over $21K for it , so Im happy with that . SS/SC's are next to impossible to come in my area new and Ive never seen a used one . It should be a easy sell reguardless in the $19K area .

You should have looked into leasing options... at least you know what your car will be worth (minimum) after X amount of years. A little bit of research would have served you well. Oh well, it sounds like this isn't your only mistake.

there is this computer program credited by the government that gives accurate appraisals than any edmunds or kbbv. I dont know what it is called, but its hard to come by. we used it for our old 94 silverado. it came out to be worth several thousand more than kbbv. I think high demand and reliability does have a huge effect on the resale. good luck.

Yeah I don't care about how much my car is worth because it is MY car. and it will be for a long long time.

I just feel bad for those who paid 25 grand for their ss, thats 10 grand lost on value!
