from what i hear you , you should go to the hardware store and buy better bolts first. I dont know personally but i always read threads on how they have weak bolts with their kits so im just trying to save you a hassle here man

Yea that was the first thing i did, I bought half inch cause the ones that came with it were way small compared to the holes, i think thats why most of them brake.

you want to use the german scale for torqueing the bolts, this scale is called goodentight.

Do what Cobalt30 said and get better bolts. I'm speaking from experience. If you don't you'll regret it. Seriously. Save your self the headache.

I dont think the problem is a weak bolt, I think its because they are way to small to begin with. 1/2 inch fit nice and snug.

the torque specs for the header to manifold are 10 ft/lbs, which is basically hand tight. they don't have to be super tight.

Bingo!! I had one from them snap. When I first installed it I was so giddy to install I didn't notice how much smaller the bolts were than the holes. When I went to replace it, I noticed and we ended up using 1/2" grade 8 bolts, fits MUCH MUCH better, that is 2 full sizes up. I can't believe they didn't use that size with the set the send out.

Yea that is what i though, new bolts a upgraded washers. How do you go about tightening youre header down to the engine.

It comes with instructions on what order to tighten them. You can get to most of them from the top of the engine, just reach down and behind the head. I had to use a wrench on the top ones because the primary tubes were too big and you can't get a socket on the nuts. But you don't have to get them super tight like people were saying.

I didn't get one for the header. Everything I have read said it is reusable.
