Question about new tail lights (led) w/pics

I recieved my new led tail lights today from modernperformance.com, I just ordered them on thursday
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/modern-performance-81/new-smoked-led-taillights-cobalt-coupes-pics-76828/
$149 plus shipping for all four smoked tail lights

They look great!!!!

After the install I noticed that my turn signals are blinking very fast like a bulb is burnt out, I checked my front turn signals, they are ok and all the leds are fully illuminated.... but if you put the hazard blinker on the signals will blink like normal!?!

The lights are very simple to install all you do is pull the bulb out of the stock wiring harness and plug in the led connector, no sodering or splicing... so I need some info how to slow down the blinkers... any ideas.... and here are some pics of the lights... I love them even though they blink at a 100mph :

This is a pic with just the parking lights on LED vs. Stockers LED's on left and Stocker on right
My stock tails weren't tinted and as you can see the tinted leds are just as bright as stockers

Yeah they are smoked but my camera didn't pick up the detail well with the flash

these next two pics I took outside for better detail

Oh yeah I also have the 3rd brake light led but it has been in the car for a while and shouldn't affect the pulse of the turn signals....

So what do you guys think I'm sure I just overlooked something...

Thanks Zach

they blink like crazy because leds take less current to light than a regular filament (sp?) bulbs. they make resistors just for this problem. if i could remember the website that i know sells decent ones, id let you know but it slips my mind right now.

Here is a link to some resistors that work. I have them on my cobalt/passat tail lights that I made and have no problems with rapid blinking. http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...2275/SFV/32481

I was planning on doing the set of LED tails (the ones that come with the large and small lights both) and getting the LED 3rd light. I'm figuring I'll also need resistors, so will you please let me know if you ended up needing to do one on each light or if just one cut it?

You have to do one for each light. A couple posts up I posted a link to resistors and they come in a package of 2.

Are the resistors for the blinker lights or brake lights? I remember doing this on my SRT and I recall them being to lower the voltage going to the blinker lights themselves, so that would make sense to just need 2. I only ask because I'd be replacing 5 lights total (both pairs of brakes and the "3rd" brake) with LED's.

blinkers would be the only thing you'd need em for cuz the brake lights come on as the brakes are applied and stay on untill you let off. the blink runs off a relay that comes on and off so it would be the only thing you'd have to put the resistor on..

Exactly. You will need to put a resister on any light that you use as a blinker.

You need a really small regular screwdriver from an eye glasses tool set to pop the small plastic cover off. Once you get the cover off it is a bitch to get the bulbs out cause they are really small so I took 2 small stripes of duct tape and taped them to the bulb. Pressed the tape on the bulbs and on each other so that I could just pull on the tape and the bulb came right out. Mine look alittle different then these http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481 but mine have lights on the side as well. These would look the best IMO. http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

Thank you guys for posting photos.

Dont we all wish that GM could have provided LED taillights on the Cobalt from the factory!?

Anyways, your car looks great.

To the poster asking if shipping is included, we are not offering free shipping on this item. If we did at one point it was a limited time offer for the first batch.

These lights are VERY hard to get ahold of, and this last batch took nearly 2 months to get from the manufacturer. Now that we have close to 40 sets in stock, we should have plenty for a while..
