WOAH. That seems a lil high. When the LSJ was first out, the parts computer at my granddad's dealership had it for $5500 retail I believe. There is NO reason for the LNF to be twice the price.

Just explaining to alleycat why the cost could be higher than that of a LSJ.

???????????????????????????

I never said it wouldn't be higher, I'd fully expect it to be higher. But I don't think DI costs $5-6k more. I could see $7k at the ABSOLUTE max.

Dude, no way. Thats almost as much as a LS7 motor on sale, and those engines have twice the materials and engineering.

Sorry about that and I know you didn't. I was only stating why theres a chance it could cost quite a bit more.

I would assume that's just the block itself.

You can't just drop this into a cobalt.

You'll need a whole new fuel system and pump to start

looks like the turbo only is $960, Im working on finding the engine itself

the crate engine wont include the turbo, just like the LSJ didnt include the supercharger, you had to purchase it seperate in crate form

you most likely will not get any of the intake/turbo systems if you can order one. probably cheaper to put a turbo on yourself
looks like you beat me to it ^^

Yeah, but it doesn't come with the oil canister, which somehow is an extra grand.

well good luck on finding the price I think alot of people are now interested how much would it be so far i have a price range of 2.8k to 11k ha ha and I am pretty sure the engine cannot be half the price of the car i was also checking to see what would be more cost effictive if i decided to drop it in my cobalt i know its di or i just might go rwd and get a sky redline there is alot of different ideas floating around and by the time i do decide it will be maybe a year from now to get the trade in value up if i do decide to go that route but who knows with the car industry going the way its going i think im going to hold on to this one until they decide on a good alternative fuel car i guess im thinking too much about the future and skyrocketing gas prices but i wont get all political this is a car fourm ha ha

That was a crazy run on sentence! lol

But I was also interested in dropping the LNF into my car a while back. Ive tried for a while to get a price on it. From what I had heard and seen they weren't avail when I was looking for them. But that was a while back (4-5 months). I also don't think it would be that big of an undertaking to swap this into the 05-07 LSJ cars. my $.02
